South Florida vs. Alabama Prediction, Picks & Odds: Week 2

Can the Alabama Crimson Tide cover a spread larger than 30 points against the South Florida Bulls? We'll try to answer this question in our Week 2 college football predictions.
When making our South Florida vs. Alabama prediction, it’s not hard to see who has the advantage. The Crimson Tide started the post-Nick Saban era with a convincing 63-0 win over Western Kentucky last week. Quarterback Jalen Milroe completed only seven passes but finished with 200 yards and three touchdowns.
Last season, the Bulls nearly upset the Crimson Tide in Florida. They’ve been rewarded as 31-point road underdogs on Saturday for their performance. Do they have enough talent to at least cover that colossal spread?

South Florida vs. Alabama spread prediction: Week 2
Alabama to cover the spread: -31 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The spread for this game is about the same across our best sports betting sites. Every major sportsbook except FanDuel has the line set at -31. While FanDuel has the total at 30.5, they’re asking -115 for Alabama to cover. The price isn’t worth it.
Crimson Tide Cruise
Last season’s debacle in Tampa is fresh in many bettor’s minds. The Crimson Tide were favored by 34.5 points over the Bulls yet were tied 3-3 at halftime. While they would go on to win the game, the 17-3 final score was used by many doubters as a reason they shouldn’t make the College Football Playoff.
Everything about last year’s game must be thrown out before Saturday’s matchup. Milroe didn’t even play in last year’s contest. Now, he will be on the field, and even without Nick Saban coaching the team, the Crimson Tide are more than capable of blowing out an inferior opponent. They proved that last week.
Bulls’ starting quarterback Byrum Brown has the advantage of having dealt with the pressure of facing Alabama. However, he has to face them on the road this season, and even in Tampa last year, he completed just 14-28 passes for 87 yards. The Crimson Tide are infinitely better in every facet of the game, and they will dominate as they get revenge for a win that felt like a loss.
Best odds: -110 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 52.38%
South Florida vs. Alabama player prop
Byrum Brown Under 171.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐
Only two of our best sportsbooks are offering an Under for this prop. FanDuel offers the highest number and the best price, so this is a no-brainer.
In Week 1, Brown only threw for 152 yards against Bethune Cookman. The Bulls racked up over 400 yards without needing him to do much. Then there is the fact that he only threw for 87 yards last season. Weather played a factor, but there’s no reason to believe he will do better than last season tonight.
While Brown threw for more than 200 yards in nine games last season, he never performed well against a defense as good as the Crimson Tide’s. They just held TJ Finley to 92 passing yards in Week 1, and he threw for 3,439 yards last season. Brown will go Under 171.5 even with the Bulls trailing for the entire game.
Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%
