Although there's room for improvement in their defensive performance, the sheer excellence of their offense leaves no doubt that they can overcome any opponent.
The Cardinal picked up a nice win in Hawaii to start their 2023 season. While the Rainbow Warriors were a popular college football upset pick last week, the Cardinal seemed unfazed as they led for nearly the entire game. QB Ashton Daniels threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns, as he helped the Cardinal score 37 points.

Considering all the rule changes with regard to timing this season, this number is extremely high. And yet, taking the Over is absolutely the best bet for our college football Week 2 predictions. The Trojans are unstoppable offensively, and because of their schedule, they could realistically score over 50 points in every single matchup.
Expect them to do just that this week. Last week, the Cardinal gave up 355 yards and three touchdowns to Hawaii quarterback Brayden Schager. Schager is off to a good start this season, but he's no Williams. What will the Heisman Trophy frontrunner do in this game, especially since the Trojans have already shown they won’t back off when up big?
However, don’t trust the Trojans to cover the spread because their defense really isn’t that good. It allowed 28 points to the San Jose State Spartans and 14 to the Nevada Wolf Pack. But it's not the points that are most worrying for this D, it's how it gave them up. The Wolf Pack scored on a 77-yard touchdown and a four-play 85-yard drive, while every Spartans' scoring drive was under four minutes.
Since the Trojans give up points and give them up fast, this is a must-play up to 73 points.

As for the spread, the Trojans opened as 28.5-point favorites, and saw the line move in their favor despite 71% of wagers backing the Cardinal. It seems oddsmakers are ignoring the public, so this spread should stay between 28 and 30 all week.
