Ahead of a busy slate over Championship Week, Army hosts Tulane in the AAC Championship with kickoff slated for tonight at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN).

Although there are no College Football playoff odds implications, a title for the underdog Black Knights (+5.5) during their first season in the conference should be enough motivation.

Our Tulane vs. Army prediction and picks envision the Black Knights leaning on the blueprint that Memphis used last week to outperform expectations against the Green Wave.

Tulane vs. Army odds movement

Despite Tulane's loss to Memphis during the final week of the regular season, the Green Wave opened  as 3.5-point favorites at our best sportsbooks. Bettors hammered the visitors early in the week and the line reached Tulane -6 on Monday.

The spread has since settled around -4.5 in favor of the Green Wave at BetMGM. The public is split with 50% of spread bets on either side ahead of tonight's game.

The similarities between Tulane and Army are fascinating. Army ranks No. 1 in the country in rushing yards per game and time of possession. Tulane is 13th in rushing and No. 3 in time of possession.

But the team that ranks second nationally in time of possession just beat Tulane at its own game, laying the groundwork for Army to do the same.

Memphis punked the Green Wave

Memphis controlled the ball for nearly 40 minutes while upsetting the Green Wave 34-24 as a 13.5-point underdog last week. A team using Tulane's style bullied the Green Wave, which rushed for just 57 yards in that loss.

Even in Army’s defeat to Notre Dame it still cleared 200 rushing yards, as it has in every game of the season.

Army has been more consistent in its execution of these mirror-image styles. We like the Black Knights at +5.5 through FanDuel better than the +4.5 and +5 lines at some of our other best sportsbooks.

While we expect to see both sides attempt to establish a rushing attack, nobody else in the game is likely to get more rushing opportunities than Army quarterback Bryson Daily.

All Daily, all the time

The Black Knights' offense has consolidated around Daily’s legs in recent weeks, with the senior QB averaging 33.0 rushing attempts over his past four games.

Daily has logged 110-plus rushing yards in nine straight outings, falling below this line only twice during that stretch. It’s hard to trust the Green Wave’s run defense to slow down Daily after Tulane gave up 326 yards on the ground last week.

Daily’s 127.5-yard rushing line at bet365 (-115) or Caesars (-118) is more favorable for Over bettors than the 128.5-yard mark at FanDuel or 132.5 through BetMGM. The value at DraftKings is comparable to bet365, which is offering 127.5 rushing yards at -120 odds for one of your college football championship week predictions.

Our Shane Jackson is also featuring Daily as part of his college football championship week player prop bets.
