East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta once again hosts the Tour Championship, with play beginning Thursday morning. Scottie Scheffler starts in the pole position for the third straight year and is the heavy betting favorite. The FedEx Cup odds favorite will look to seal his first season-long title.

Scheffler is the only PGA Tour golfer to win six times in 2024. Those victories include the Masters and The Players Championship, and he also won the Olympic gold medal in Paris.

That resume has Scheffler as a +120 favorite by the Tour Championship odds. Those odds represent an implied win probability of 45.45%.

The No. 1 golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) will begin the Tour Championship at 10-under par as the far-away leader in the FedEx Cup standings, as he did each of the last two seasons. No. 2 on the oddsboard - starting at 8-under - is 2024's only two-time major winner, Xander Schauffele.

Tour Championship favorite

Scottie Scheffler (+120)

2024 wins: Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, Masters, RBC Heritage, Memorial Tournament, Travelers Championship

Scheffler's 12 career PGA Tour victories have all come since February 2022. That breakthrough victory in the WM Phoenix Open snapped what then felt like a painful drought.

The New Jersey native paced the FedEx Cup standings for almost the entirety of the 2024 golf season. He heads to East Lake with a nearly-1,200-point lead over Xander Schauffele. His reward is a 2-stroke starting advantage.

And he blew that lead each of the past two years, first to Rory McIlroy in 2022 and then to Viktor Hovland a year ago. He enters the 2024 season finale off of a T-33 finish in last week's BMW Championship.

For whatever reason, East Lake Golf Club - and this format - haven't seemed to suit Scheffler. He draws a pass in the tournament outright market - which accounts for starting strokes. A better price could be had in the "without starting strokes" market, as it would negate Scheffler's lead.
