The San Francisco Giants are marching second-year righty Hayden Birdsong out to the mound tonight when they take on the Athletics at 10:05 p.m. ET. While 23-year-old has only given up nine home runs in 19 appearances, and eight starts, he's been taken to task as of late, allowing five dingers in his last four outings.

With Rooker hammering home runs as often as the people of Oakland curse out Athletics ownership for taking their A's from them, the 30-year-old is poised to rip the laces off of at least one ball tonight. Rooker has 87 home runs over the last three seasons and has shown no signs of slowing down, with a .543 SLG and three homers in his last 12 games.

This is an ideal matchup for Rooker, too. Birdsong goes to his four-seamer 43.9% of the time, a pitch that Rooker has a .547 xSLG and 48.6% hard-hit rate against this season. And Birdsong's second-most frequent pitch, his slider (25.7%), is a pitch Rooker hits even harder with a .736 SLG and 51.4% hard-hit rate.
