As of Sunday morning, the Cubs are favored to beat the Cardinals in today's MLB matchup at 6:10 p.m. ET from Wrigley Field in Chicago. I'm predicting the Cubs will beat the Cardinals as -200 moneyline favorites, but would lay the -1.5 runs at +105 odds for better value.

What the Cubs did in this series opener should not go overlooked, and I expect their successes from that dominant victory to spill into tonight for one of their sluggers as part of our best Cardinals vs. Cubs player prop for Sunday Night Baseball.

Chicago hit a franchise single-game record eight home runs in its 11-3 victory, including a record six through the first three innings. Michael Busch provided three, and that, along with his five RBI, were both career highs.

In the process, Busch became the first Cubs first baseman with a three-home run game since Ernie Banks in 1963. And he and Pete Crow-Armstrong were the first pair of Cubs teammates with two home runs each through the first three innings in the same game.
