Naturally, Ohtani headlines our Dodgers vs. Cubs player props for the Tokyo Series, along with two of his fellow star teammates. The Dodgers may be without Mookie Betts for this two-game set, but Ohtani is still joined by perennial MLB MVP odds contender Freddie Freeman, and I'm particularly intrigued by one of his props.

One of the most popular bets at BetMGM ahead of Tuesday's game is Ohtani Over 0.5 home runs, and though I was interested in that, too, after watching him clobber one in this stadium a couple of days ago, I like his stolen base prop more.
As everyone knows, Ohtani went 50-50 last year, and he nearly stole 60 bags. Sure, it's possible he runs less this season now that he's expected to return as a pitcher, but I think he'll still be a massive threat on the basepaths.
Ohtani stole second base in the first game of the Tokyo Series last year against the San Diego Padres, and I think history will repeat itself in front of the crowd at the Tokyo Dome when the Dodgers face the Cubs this time around.
Miguel Amaya is expected to start behind the plate for the Cubs, and he was generally pitiful at catching potential base-stealers last year. He managed to nab only 18 runners while allowing 78 stolen bases. Only one other catcher in baseball who logged at least 900 innings behind the plate managed to catch fewer opposing players stealing last year.

Of the two starters set to go in this game, Yamamoto is projected to have a better start than Shota Imanaga based on a number of stats. Perhaps the biggest gap between the two is their projected strikeout total, as Yamamoto (5.71) is expected to finish with a full strikeout more than Imanaga (4.72).
Based on those projections, it's Yamamoto's Over that I'm most interested in, especially at these +115 odds.

Of course, Yamamoto could be on a relatively short leash in his first start of the season, but based on his K/9 last season, he doesn't need to go especially deep into this game to clear this mark.

Freeman is coming off a legendary performance last fall when he captured World Series MVP honors while essentially hobbling around on one leg. The first baseman is still apparently nursing that ankle injury, but he looked no worse for wear during spring training, as he clobbered three home runs across 26 plate appearances.
The 2020 NL MVP has the second-best home run projection among any player in Tuesday's game, behind only Ohtani. We're getting very decent value on his home run prop based on that projection thanks to these +500 odds.
