It's never comforting to bet against the reigning champions, especially with Pitching Ninja favorite Dustin May on the hill. But there's real value on the home underdogs and their resurgent rookie lefty.

Since his debut on April 30, Cameron quietly ranks just outside the top 10 in ERA (2.08) and WHIP (0.97) among those with 40-plus innings pitched. He's doing that while using a five-pitch mix that helps him suppress contact at an elite rate. That's how he's managed to last at least five innings in all eight starts while allowing multiple runs just twice.

The same can't be said for May, who has been hit hard all year and gave up three home runs in his last start against the Washington Nationals. While the Royals' bats have been blanked in two straight contests, I think they'll find enough open grass tonight - while leaning on a lights-out bullpen - to keep it close or even win outright.
