The Blue Jays surged toward to end the first half of the season, and they'll look to continue that against the Giants.

Our Giants vs. Blue Jays prediction features two teams looking to push the accelerator in the hunt for playoff spots while moving up the World Series odds.

The Blue Jays didn't end the first half on the note they wanted while dropping a series to the Athletics. Still, a 10-game winning streak to surge up the AL East standings and now lead the division isn't far in the rearview.

Meanwhile, San Francisco is chasing a wild-card spot as we make our Giants vs. Blue Jays best bets. When first pitch is thrown tomorrow night at 7:07 p.m. ET (Sportsnet, MLB Network), the Blue Jays will be the betting favorites at around -140 through our best MLB betting sites.

Toronto has won 12 of its last 16 games, and the Jays aren't far removed from that 10-game winning run in which they averaged 6.5 runs scored per outing.

Getting back to those sizzling ways will be key as we make our Giants vs. Blue Jays prediction. San Francisco is imposing with its third-ranked pitching staff (3.50) and top-ranked bullpen (3.14). But the Jays have been making plenty of contact against anyone recently with their batting average that rests second MLB-wide (.258) and OPS that sits ninth (.734).

Toronto continuing at the plate like that is central to my Giants vs. Blue Jays best bet, especially when looking at the opposing dugout and San Francisco's offense that's down at 24th in OPS (.678) and 21st in scoring.

Be sure to make this bet at FanDuel, as some of our other best sports betting apps are listing the Blue Jays around -145.

Bassitt has been effective overall while allowing one earned run or fewer in nearly half of his outings. However, lately he's been oscillating between the usual weak-contact inducing version of himself, and another guy who's perhaps an impostor and giving up lots of loud hits.

The low point for the latter character was his eight earned runs allowed across just two innings amid a thumping at the hands of the Boston Red Sox in late June. That ended a month when his ERA ballooned to 5.46, a far cry from Bassitt's 2.62 to begin the season in March and April.

But the veteran has no doubt benefited from rest over the All-Star break. And even if the substandard Bassitt is still lingering, our best sports betting sites are overreacting to his struggles and setting this strikeout line too low.

Target the Over on 4.5 strikeouts while making your best Giants vs. Blue Jays player props, as even amid his inconsistencies Bassitt has fallen below that mark just five times across his 19 starts this season.

He's midway through his age-36 campaign, and yet the veteran's K/9 is up notably from a few years back. Bassitt sat at 8.3 during his final season with the New York Mets in 2022, and he's at 8.7 now.

The hurler uses a highly effective cutter and curveball to minimize contact in general, and especially the hard variety. Opposing hitters are posting just a .187 batting average against the cutter, and a .164 when facing the curveball, according to Baseball Savant. Even better, the Giants strike out reasonably often while recording the 12th-most leaguewide.

What is the run line in baseball?

The run line in baseball is a form of point spread betting unique to MLB. It typically sets a standard spread of 1.5 runs, meaning the favored team must win by at least two runs to cover the run line, while the underdog can lose by one run or win outright to cover.

What does moneyline mean in betting?

The moneyline in betting refers to a wager on which team or player will win the game outright, with no point spread involved. It’s the most straightforward type of sports bet—just pick the winner.
