Los Angeles has won three straight and six of its last eight, scoring at least five runs in all six of those victories. The lone exceptions came against Logan Webb (Giants) and Dylan Cease (Padres) - two of the best starters in baseball - which is asking a lot from San Diego starter Randy Vasquez tonight.

By just about any metric, the Dodgers have the best lineup in baseball. And, by the same token, Vasquez is one of the worst pitchers in the majors.

His surface-level stats (3-4, 3.57 ERA) belie the truth, but the third-year righty has ranked in the bottom 5% of pitchers in xERA, strikeout rate, and max exit velocity each of the past two years. His 5.91 xERA and 13.9% strikeout rate this season rank in the bottom five among 107 pitchers with at least 60 innings.

Vasquez simply can't miss bats to save his life, and the Dodgers crush the ball when they make contact ... you do the math from there. Vasquez couldn't last five innings the last time he faced Los Angeles - or either of his two starts before that - and I'm not expecting anything different tonight.
