Phillies vs. Braves Prediction, Odds & Best Bets: Can Atlanta Bounce Back?

The Braves were annihilated by the Phillies last night, but can they rebound tonight at home?
Phillies vs. Braves Prediction, Odds & Best Bets: Saturday, June 28

The Atlanta Braves will try to bounce back from a 13-0 loss last night when they host the Philadelphia Phillies for Game 2 at 7:15 p.m. ET tonight at Truist Park on FOX. Enter Spencer Schwellenbach, the main character of our Phillies vs. Braves prediction.

The Braves used six different pitchers in Friday’s loss, beginning with a two-inning performance from their starter. They need someone to pitch deep into the game to save their bullpen, and he's the man for the job.

Thanks to his six-pitch arsenal, Schwellenbach is a difficult pitcher to prepare for. That’s even true for a division rival like the Phillies, who were held to one run on seven hits when they faced him on April 10.

I expect another strong start from the Atlanta right-hander, but his outs prop is my favorite way to back that idea. Not only do the Braves need more outs from him on Saturday following Friday’s performance, but he’s been doing just that in his most recent outings.

Schwellenbach has pitched at least seven innings in three straight starts, including a complete game against the Milwaukee Brewers on June 11. He’s cleared this mark in six of his previous eight starts.

Bet on Schwellenbach to set the tone in a Braves win on Saturday.
