With pool play at the World Baseball Classic complete and the quarterfinals set, it's important to remember there are still many different ways you can get involved. One of those ways is through prediction markets, as Kalshi offers its own market for the tournament, and we're examining the WBC 2026 odds at prediction markets.
Kalshi lists Team USA with a 42% chance of winning the tournament, a dip from 49% only a few days ago. That means you'd now profit $14 on a successful $10 investment rather than $11 if the Americans win the WBC.
The Dominican Republic continues to gain ground, as it's now up to 29%, but I'm turning my attention toward the defending champion, as Japan is listed at just 20%. That's the equivalent of +400 odds, which I am very interested in.

Japan (20%)
It's amazing that we're getting the defending champions at such a good price here. They're being listed below the Dominican Republic, but I like Japan's chances more.
Based on the return on a $10 investment at this price with Kalshi, Japan would be trading at traditional odds of around +400, which carry an implied probability of right around 20%. In my opinion, after seeing the way it's played so far, I'm pricing Japan closer to 30% or odds of around +250.
At the end of January, this number was nearly 30%. The only real thing that's changed since then is we know the best pitcher in baseball, Tarik Skubal, will not pitch for Team USA in the finals if it reaches that stage. I get that Japan backers might be worried about the Dominican Republic, but I prefer the pedigree of the defending champs.

- Games in pool play and the quarterfinals will end when a team leads by 10 or more runs after the completion of the seventh inning, or 15 or more runs after the fifth inning.
