Yankees vs. Red Sox Same Game Parlay Picks for Sunday Night Baseball

Multiple All-Stars will take the field for the series finale between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. Here are our Yankees-Red Sox Same Game parlay picks.
This weekend's Yankees-Red Sox series has featured plenty of offense thus far. It's difficult to envision the Sunday Night Baseball finale being much different.
As per usual, this weekend’s Yankees-Red Sox series has featured some wild games. The two sides combined to score no fewer than 11 runs in each of the first three games. After New York won on Thursday and Friday, Boston will attempt to salvage a series split this evening.
Here are my same game parlay picks for the Sunday night baseball matchup between the Yankees and Red Sox (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).
Yankees vs. Red Sox Same Game Parlay Picks
Alternate game total Over 8.5 runs (-135) ????Red Sox team total Over 4.5 runs (+115) ????J.D. Martinez 2+ total bases (-105) ???
Combined Odds: +270
Same Game Parlay Predictions for Sunday Night Baseball
Total runs Over 8.5 (-135)
If the first three games of this series are any indication, fans are in store for a large offensive output on Sunday Night Baseball. After all, the losing team has scored exactly five runs in each of the first three games. In Friday and Saturday’s contests, the Yankees and Red Sox combined to score 28 runs on a whopping 47 total hits.
Although the Yankees have gotten a much better season from their pitching staff than many analysts anticipated, the strength of both teams is clearly their loaded lineups. The fact that the total sits at 9.5 runs at some shops is a clear reflection of how the MLB betting market feels ahead of Sunday's series finale.

Looking at the starting pitching matchup, Boston will send Nick Pivetta to the mound. After a rough start to the year, Pivetta has been mostly locked in since the middle part of May. However, he did surrender seven runs in less than six innings to Tampa Bay in his latest outing.
For the Yankees, Jameson Taillon can hardly be considered a sure thing on the mound either. In fact, he has ceded at least three runs in five of his last six starts. Taillon has also allowed multiple homers and five runs or more in two of his last three appearances.
Throw in the added benefit for hitters that the short Fenway Park dimensions provide and there's no reason that the two sides can't exceed 8.5 total runs in Sunday night's contest.

Red Sox team total Over 4.5 (+115)
Not only have the Red Sox surpassed 4.5 runs in all three games of this series so far, but the plus-money price makes this team total prop a very appealing option for our same-game parlay.
As discussed above, the general trend of this entire Yankees-Red Sox series has been geared towards the offenses on both sides. Given how shaky Taillon has been for New York in his last few starts, Sunday night should not be any different. If anything, one could argue that the Red Sox have a more favorable pitching matchup in the series finale than do the Yankees.
The Red Sox are averaging 4.69 runs per game on the season, the sixth-best mark in all of baseball. The fact that it is also slightly over the prop line of 4.5 only serves to bolster our stance on the Over. After all, several of Boston's games this year have come away from the hitter-friendly Fenway Park and against more intimidating starters than Taillon at that.
Martinez 2+ total bases (-105)
Even at age 34, J.D. Martinez continues to be one of the top hitters in all of baseball. The veteran outfielder owns a .313 batting average on the season. Although he may not be wielding quite the same power that he has in previous years, Martinez is still typically good for at least one hit per game.
Oddly enough, Martinez was actually held hitless in Thursday's series opener against the Yankees. He made up for that with a trio of knocks on Friday and also had a hit in Saturday's game. A pair of singles or one extra-base hit is all he would need to achieve to fulfill this final leg of our same-game parlay.
In six prior plate appearances against Taillon, Martinez has reached base three times. Two of those came via contact and resulted in a single and double. The third time he reached came via a walk. Looking at the last six games, Martinez has totaled nine hits over two of the top pitching staffs in the game. He certainly figures to be a factor in Sunday's rivalry game.
Combined Odds: Alternate total runs Over 8.5 (-135) + Red Sox team total Over 4.5 (+115) + Martinez 2+ total bases (-105) = +270
