☀️ Expected temperature in Toronto on Canada Day
It's been sweltering in Toronto for a few days as the city endures an early-summer record-setting heat wave. The temperature at Pearson Airport on Monday reached a sweaty 36 degrees. It was the first time since 2016 that the airport recorded the mercury at such a scorching state.
In what was only the third official day of summer, Toronto tallied the hottest temperature on June 23 since 1983, according to CityNews.
But there's still over a week to go until we all don our finest Canadian flag apparel. While it's expected to be toasty on Canada Day, the sauna-like temperatures are projected to subside somewhat, with The Weather Network's forecast calling for a high of 28.
It's of course no accident that FanDuel, one of the best Ontario sports betting sites, is listing 28 degrees as the favorite at +210 betting odds (implying a 32.26% probability), with 27 degrees a close second at +380 odds (20.83%).
A high in the upper 20s would be more in line with recent Canada Day weather. Last year's maple leaf-infused party took place at a warm yet more comfortable 24 degrees. But it's been 28 or 29 degrees in Toronto on Canada Day in three of the past five years.
