The top-seeded New York Liberty host the eighth-seeded Atlanta Dream in Tuesday's Game 2 after blowing them out to open the WNBA postseason.

Here is a look at our Liberty vs. Dream prediction, expert picks, and WNBA playoff odds for Game 2.

Dream vs. Liberty prediction: Game 2

Liberty -12.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

All season long, we've had a tough time knowing what to expect from the Liberty after their run to the WNBA Finals a year ago.

When the motivation is there, New York has looked like the best team in the league. But it's had a tendency to play down to its opponent across the marathon of a 40-game season.

Well, the playoffs are finally here. And I think it's pretty clear which version of the Liberty have arrived after an 83-69 win over the Dream on Sunday.

Dream season to end Tuesday

Sunday's result looks closer than it really was, as the Liberty jumped out to a 29-16 lead after the first quarter and led by as many as 22 points before the Dream outscored them in garbage time.

Four different players scored in double figures for New York, which also limited Atlanta to 39.7% shooting with just 3-of-16 makes from 3-point range.

We could see a similarly quick start on Tuesday, which makes New York an intriguing bet on the first quarter spread of -4.5 via bet365, where its -105 odds are the best on the market.

There's still a fair amount of volatility in 1Q betting, though, and I have more certainty that the Liberty are simply the far better team across a 40-minute sample when the stakes are at their highest.

If New York wins on Tuesday, it could enjoy a few extra days' rest before presumably facing the Las Vegas Aces in a WNBA Finals rematch. Don't expect this group to let off the gas in Game 2.

Sabrina Ionescu Over 23.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The biggest news out of Game 1 (besides the result) was Liberty coach Sandy Brondello's decision to start rookie Leonie Fiebich over veteran Courtney Vandersloot.

Brondello says the move is to better stagger the rotation when super-sub Betnijah Laney-Hamilton is in the game, but the result was one of Vandersloot's lowest minutes totals of the season (16). That's a big deal for a player ranked second on the team in assists (4.8).

It also spells major opportunity for Ionescu, who led the Liberty in assists (five) and ranked second in shot attempts (11) in that Game 1 win.

Assuming the lineup change is permanent, that should mean Ionescu with the ball in her hands even more than usual. She fell just short of this mark on Sunday, but I still like her chances of taking advantage on Tuesday.
