British Grand Prix Best Bets, Odds, Prediction: Expert F1 Prop Bets, Picks to Win

A fascinating FP2 in high winds finished with Lando Norris as the fastest, which bodes well for the top pick in our British Grand Prix best bets.
Norris, who opened as the favorite to win Sunday's British Grand Prix, has since fallen to third by the odds at the best F1 betting sites after Max Verstappen took the pole position in qualifying. But the surging McLaren driver still looks to be in top form while sitting third on the grid.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton, who we covered in our British Grand Prix picks and Lewis Hamilton British Grand Prix predictions, lurks in fifth after qualifying, and we expect him to be a factor considering his strong history at Silverstone with nine wins.
Sunday's race starts at 10 a.m. ET and is aired on ESPN.

π Pick to win British Grand Prix: Lando Norris ββββ

I backed Norris to win last week at Red Bull Ring, and he duly obliged. I'm returning the favor, expecting him to win his first British Grand Prix.
This race has been earmarked on his bucket list since he began his racing career. It slipped through his fingers last season when he finished third, following up on the previous year's second-place achievement.
Norris is prone to making catastrophic mistakes, which cost him in qualifying and on race day in Canada. However, he was exceptional in Austria last week, taking FP2, FP3, qualifying, and the grand prix itself. Aside from a couple of early Oscar Piastri challenges, Norris was uncontested throughout.
Norris looked comfortable in FP2 on Friday and has the pace to win, especially as Silverstone is the fourth fastest on the circuit. He also has the confidence, self-belief, and the best car. And I have faith that all of his harebrained blunders are behind him, at least for a while.
π Best value bet to win British Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton βββ

Best odds: +650 via DraftKings

Thanks to his third-fastest time in FP2, Hamilton has gone from an outstanding long-shot pick to a decent best-value pick. Initially, I backed Hamilton due to his ridiculously impressive record at Silverstone.
He's won nine times there.
To put that into context, no driver in history has won any race on the circuit as many times. He's victorious in seven of the last 10 British Grand Prix races, securing the win last year, his first in over two years.
There's also the potentially wet weather to contend with, which Hamilton navigates better than anyone. There's a 30% chance of precipitation, and the wind could play a factor too.
DraftKings has the longest odds of our best sports betting apps, and a winning $10 bet will yield a $64 profit. bet365 and Caesars (+550) offer the least value, where you'd earn $55.
π― Best long shot to win British Grand Prix: Max Verstappen βββ
Best odds: +1100 via bet365

If you've followed my F1 predictions, you know where I stand on long-shot picks. There are consistently few viable long-shot options.
So, the logical choice is Verstappen, who I'd be fading to win the race if his price wasn't so enticing.
He was taken out of the race before getting a chance to move up the grid in Austria, and Verstappen finished second in Montreal in the previous grand prix.
His fifth-fastest time in FP2 didn't instill a ton of confidence, nor does the Dutchman's constant consternation about his car. However, Verstappen's odds won't get any longer than +1100, and I'm willing to put a few bucks down on the man who can ascend the grid like no other.
π° Best British Grand Prix prop bets & picks at Silverstone Circuit

π₯ Best prop bet for British Grand Prix: Lando Norris to win qualifying ββββ
Best odds: +135 via BetMGM ($10 returns $13.50 profit)
Norris enters the race in top gear and bursting with confidence. He took off where he left off in FP2, showcasing consummate control of his MCL39 while maintaining excellent pace on his soft tires.
If he races as he did in FP2, I can't see him losing to anyone, including F1 Championship odds favorite and teammate Piastri. His odds to win qualifying are slightly shorter than to win the race, and a $10 bet will pocket $13.50.
On an aside, I also like the +100 odds for Hamilton to finish on the podium. If there's any race he'll rise to the occasion, it's this one.
π Best prop bet for British Grand Prix: Will driver who starts in pole win? Yes βββ
Best odds: -118 via BetMGM ($10 returns $8.47 profit)
Backing the pole-sitter to win presents an interesting, albeit slightly risky play.
The pole-sitter has won just 10 of the previous 30 British Grand Prix races, including three of the last eight. Overall, he who starts first on the grid at the British Grand Prix has won 22 of 59 races.
However, I'm backing Norris to win the race, and I expect him to take pole position as well. He has been the fastest driver on the grid in the last three races, including in Montreal before his catastrophic mistake. That bodes well for him fending off any would-be challengers.
So, I'm banking on him bucking the recent trend.

π‘ How to bet on British Grand Prix
When betting on any grand prix, there are many things to consider, some more crucial than others:
- Follow what happens closely during practice sessions, specifically FP2. FP3 is another important practice session. However, FP2 tends to offer a pretty accurate preview of what to expect in Sunday's Grand Prix. You can get excellent value by placing your bets before qualifying, using FP2 as a good case study.
- While the practice sessions should be used to inform your picks, qualifying is the most important part of the pre-race festivities. You might get better odds picking a driver before qualifying, but it could also make winning much more challenging if qualifying doesn't go well.
- Only 10 of the last 30 races at Silverstone were won by the pole-sitter, and overall rate is below 40 (22 out of 59)
