On Sunday, the 53rd Canadian Grand Prix takes place on what could be a wet Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal as we provide our Canadian Grand Prix picks and predictions based on the F1 odds from our best F1 betting sites.

George Russell took pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen sliding in at the No. 2 position. Lando Norris, our pick to win the event, starts at third on the grid. The ninth race of the 2024 season is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET on ABC.

Max Verstappen, the favorite according to the Canadian Grand Prix odds, aims to secure his third consecutive victory in Montreal and his sixth win out of nine races this season. While Verstappen is expected to be a strong contender for the Canadian GP title, Red Bull Racing continues to grapple with curb-riding issues since the Monaco Grand Prix, potentially providing an opportunity for McLaren and Ferrari to capitalize.

Here are our picks and predictions based on the F1 odds for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Canadian Grand Prix predictions

Favorite: Lando Norris (+500 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

While Lando Norris had the fastest lap time in the first, somewhat meaningless practice session, this pick is more based on a combination of Red Bull's recent difficulties and Norris' excellent recent form.

Norris won the Miami Grand Prix, joining Ferrari's Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc as the trio of race winners this season not named Verstappen. The Englishman has been held off the podium just once in his last four races, finishing second at the Chinese Grand Prix and Imola while securing a fourth-place finish last time out in Monaco. The conditions are expected to be wet, which should favor McLaren's superior ability to handle the increased number of tight corners.

At +500, FanDuel's odds imply a probability of 16.67%, and a $10 bet pays a profit of $50 if it hits.

Long shot: Carlos Sainz (+2800 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Carlos Sainz won the Australian Grand Prix and has been persistently knocking on the door for most of the season, finishing third in three races and fifth three times.

Ferrari didn't feel they needed to make any improvements in advance of the Canadian Grand Prix, which makes sense considering their first and second-place finishes in Monaco.

The +2800 odds at FanDuel are too good to pass up. You'll want to jump on them as soon as possible, as they should shorten by Sunday afternoon, barring a disastrous qualification. The odds imply a probability of 3.45%, and a $10 bet would pay a profit of $280 if he takes the checkered flag.

Prop: Charles Leclerc fastest lap (+650 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Leclerc enters the Canadian GP neck and neck with Norris as the second favorite. He's brimming with confidence after winning in Monaco and registered the fastest lap in Saudi Arabia and Australia earlier in the season. Ferrari should have a slight advantage over Red Bull if the conditions are wet.

That said, I expect Verstappen to be in the running for the fastest lap along with Norris and, as a potential outsider, Lewis Hamilton. Leclerc, though, will be looking forward to extending the momentum from Monaco into the Canadian GP.

At +650, FanDuel's odds imply a probability of 13.33%, and a $10 bet will pay a profit of $65.
