Masters Prop Picks: Finishing Position and Make the Cut Parlays for Big Paydays

Betting on Tiger Woods at The Masters has become a tradition unlike any other. The 2022 Masters field has been announced, and Woods will tee off at 10:34 a.m. Here is a look at several parlays and props for this week's major championship.
Parlays of finishing positions in PGA events aren't typically available at American-based sportsbooks. It's common practice at European and offshore sportsbooks, but you never see it at the likes of FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, or PointsBet. However, the latter has created a section that enables you to parlay the finishing positions of several golfers.

Nationality Parlay: Jon Rahm top Spaniard, Corey Conners top Canadian, Cameron Smith top Australian (+258 via PointsBet)
Considering Rahm's statistics, it's easy to get behind him this week at the Masters. To have success at Augusta National, a player must gain strokes off the tee. Rahm led the field in this category last year at the Masters and is ranked first on the PGA Tour this season in SG: off the tee. You also have to appreciate the price point that PointsBet is offering you to parlay Rahm to be the top Spanish player in the tournament. He's -450 at DraftKings but only -358 at PointsBet.
Conners is in a similar situation to Rahm, as he also excels at SG: off the tee. Unlike Mike Weir and Mackenzie Hughes, Conner's game is much more suitable for Augusta National than those of his fellow Canadians. In contrast to Hughes and Weir, who are both losing strokes in their careers at Augusta National, Conners is averaging 1.31 SG: total and has back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Masters.
Smith should be an easy sell for the top Australian this week. Along with having a strong history at Augusta National, he's in the best form of his career. The Players champion is averaging 1.71 SG: total and has finished inside of the top 10 in three of his last four appearances at the Masters. As with Rahm, the price PointsBet is offering on Smith for this parlay (+100) is higher than that at other sportsbooks. The odds for him to be the top Australian are -110 at DraftKings.
Besides strongly favoring the outcomes of this parlay, the price points at which we are parlaying are the highest available. This makes the parlay even more valuable.

To Make the Cut Parlay: Cameron Smith, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth, Viktor Hovland, Corey Conners, Tony Finau, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Marc Leishman, and Xander Schauffele (+1801 via PointsBet)
Over the years, I've learned that the Masters is the best tournament for this type of parlay due to its cut rules. An average PGA tournament has a field of 132 to 156 golfers, and only 65 of them make the cut. The Masters' field is only 91 players, and 50 golfers will make the cut. At the Masters, 54% of the field will play on the weekend, while in other tournaments, as few as 41% could make the cut. There are also 10-15 golfers who are taking a victory lap the first two days and are almost certain to miss the cut.
In my parlay, none of these golfers have missed the cut in their last five appearances at the Masters. The group consists of 12 golfers who have reliably performed well enough at Augusta National to make the cut during the last five years. I consider this to be one of my favorite props to parlay.

Hole-in-One Specials: Hole-in-one on No. 16 (-125 via DraftKings)
At DraftKings, you can find a number of props related to someone getting a hole-in-one at the Masters. Based on the price of the props, I believe there's more value on someone getting a hole-in-one on the 16th hole as opposed to anywhere else on the golf course.
At present, the odds of a hole-in-one occurring at the Masters are priced at -175. At the Masters, 16 of the last 18 hole-in-ones have occurred on the 16th hole. Therefore, why wager at the -175 price point when you are essentially depending on a hole-in-one on the 16th hole anyway?
A -125 price point for the hole-in-one to occur on the 16th hole would be much more valuable. This prop would have cashed in five of the past six Masters tournaments. The only tournament that did not feature a hole-in-one at the 16th hole was the fall 2020 Masters, which was rescheduled as a result of the pandemic.
There have been only two instances since 1972 when this prop was lost by playing the hole in one to occur on the 16th hole rather than anywhere else on the golf course. It's an extremely rare occurrence for the Masters to have only one hole-in-one in a tournament and for it not to occur on the 16th hole.

Masters Hub Parlay: Jon Rahm Winner & Tony Finau Top 5 (+14200 via PointsBet)
Rather than fight Finau and what he represents, why not embrace "Top Five Tony" in a parlay at PointsBet?
If you'd like to use Finau to finish among the top five in several parlays at PointsBet, you're in luck. The odds that PointsBet gives him to finish in the top five are +1000, the highest of any sportsbook. Additionally, PointsBet has Rahm priced at +1200 to win the Masters, which is the highest number available since FanDuel reduced his odds from +1300 to +1200.
If you make this parlay on Rahm and Finau, you're combining the highest price points at any sportsbook for these specific outcomes. This is rare when it comes to making a parlay.

Top 10 Parlay: Matt Fitzpatrick & Xander Schauffele (+1227 via PointsBet)
I'm prepared to stand by my opinion that Fitzpatrick is the most underrated player going into the Masters. Fitzpatrick leads the PGA Tour in SG: total, but he doesn't figure prominently on the odds board this week.
In the other half of this parlay, we have Schauffele, who's made a living by finishing in the top 10 on the PGA Tour. In 16 rounds at Augusta National, Schauffele has averaged 1.93 SG: total. Last year, Schauffele was in contention until the very end but settled for a third-place finish. It's noteworthy that Schauffele has finished in the top three in two of his last three Masters appearances.
Both Schauffele and Fitzpatrick are capable of winning the Masters, so I am very confident in their ability to finish within the top 10 this week. There's no real difference in pricing between PointsBet and other sportsbooks. At FanDuel, this parlay would generate a price point of +1225.
