Pennzoil 400 Predictions at Las Vegas Today: Best NASCAR Prop Bets, Expert Picks to Win & Odds

After winning his third straight race last week at Phoenix, Christopher Bell is priced among the contenders to do something we haven't seen since 2007: four victories in a row.
However, Bell is trading at odds longer than three other drivers, including Kyle Larson, who's trading as the favorite. We look at Larson, Bell, and more with our 2025 Pennzoil 400 predictions for this weekend's NASCAR race in Las Vegas.
The green flag is set to wave today at 3:30 p.m. ET, and we dive into the best NASCAR picks and bets for this weekend’s action.

🏁 Pennzoil 400 predictions, expert picks & best bets at Las Vegas
After two superspeedways, one road course, and one short track with an option tire, we’re back to the basics today at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This track is a 1.5-mile high-speed intermediate, which means top-notch equipment matters more and raw skill matters less.
Last year, with few exceptions, high-speed intermediate tracks were the playground of Hendrick, 23XI, and Joe Gibbs Racing. Those teams combined to win five of the seven races on these tracks - just not the last two. Those went to Ross Chastain and Joey Logano.
But ultimately, those are the exceptions that prove the rule, and I predict Chase Elliott will win the Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas.

🏆 Pick to win the Pennzoil 400: Chase Elliott (+1700 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These odds are incredibly long for any driver out of the Hendrick Motorsports stable, especially Elliott. While he hasn’t been as dominant as he was before 2022, Elliott can still find a way to win at these tracks, which he demonstrated at Texas last season.
Over the seven high-speed intermediate events last season, Elliott scored one win, two top-5s, four top-10s, and six top-15s. His worst finish, a 33rd here last fall, was due to a suspension issue that kept him in the rear for the whole race.
While two of Elliott’s teammates, Kyle Larson (+400) and William Byron (+750) enjoy much shorter odds, sharp bettors should capitalize upon the discounted price that Elliott is currently trading for - at least at FanDuel, where you’ll find him at a juicy +1700.

💎 Best value bet to win the Pennzoil 400: Chase Briscoe (+2500 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Few drivers stand out as a better value bet than Chase Briscoe. It’s been an apocalyptically bad start to the season for Briscoe in the No. 19 Toyota, but JGR has equipment that is too competitive at tracks like this one for books to be pricing him in the 25-1 range. The No. 19 Toyota hasn’t finished worse than P9 in Vegas since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those skeptical of Briscoe’s ability to win this race should turn no further than his results in the Xfinity Series. Briscoe made five starts in Sin City since 2018, and he managed to sweep the 2020 races here, leading the most laps in both events. Sure, Stewart Haas Racing wasn’t competitive here during his time in the No. 14 Ford - that doesn’t mean we should write Briscoe off.
🎯 Best long shot to win Pennzoil 400: Ty Gibbs (+4000 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Every NASCAR fan knows that Ty Gibbs will win a race in the next few years. Sure, he may not be the most talented driver, but he still gets to pilot winning JGR equipment. As a result, it’s surprising to see him featured at such long odds for this event. Gibbs posted a win here in the Xfinity Series over just three starts, and given JGR’s recent dominance at high-speed intermediates, it’s impossible to write him off.
Last spring, Gibbs finished fifth at this track despite failing to lead a lap. He posted the fourth-best driver rating regardless. In the fall, he made contact with the wall and spun out, leading to a 30th-place result despite an eighth-place starting position. While he isn’t a true “long shot” at odds of 40-1 via Caesars, he is the best bang for your buck at the market price.

💰 Best Pennzoil 400 prop bets & picks at Las Vegas
If you’re out on our three outright picks to win at Las Vegas this weekend, don’t worry - our NASCAR betting expert has dug up two more NASCAR prop bets for the Pennzoil 400, including a five-star wager for one of his outright picks simply to put together a top-10 result.

🔥 Best prop bet for Pennzoil 400: Chase Elliott to finish top 10 (-140 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am completely sold on the cars that Hendrick Motorsports brings to high-speed intermediates, and Chase Elliott’s No. 9 Chevrolet is no exception. Last year, Elliott finished outside the top 15 at these tracks just once, and it took a suspension issue for him to do so. He posted a top-10 result in four of seven events, good for a win rate of 57.1%, barely worse than the implied odds of this line (58.3%).
Ultimately, it’s easy for me to keep the faith in Elliott based on the speed we saw out of Hendrick down the stretch last year. Elliott rallied to finish P9 despite starting in 38th at Kansas last year. Over the last two high-speed intermediate races of the season, Hendrick drivers scored five top-10s of a possible eight, with only Kyle Larson failing to post a single top-10 result.
While wagering $10 on Elliott to post a top-10 result will earn you only $7.14 in net profit, such a wager should be worth it given the dominance that Hendrick Motorsports has shown on high-speed intermediates of late.
🚀 Best long-shot prop bet for Pennzoil 400: Carson Hocevar to finish top 10 (+330 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐
I’m clearly high on Hendrick Motorsports this weekend, so why not extend that courtesy to their partner team, Spire Motorsports? Sure, it’s been a rough start to the year for the three-car team, especially after three of their cars managed to have problems at Phoenix, but a bounce-back showing in Las Vegas could be in the cards - especially for star driver Carson Hocevar.
Hocevar finished 15th here last fall in worse equipment than he’ll be driving this season. He also scored top-10 results at both Michigan and Texas, other high-speed intermediates, so we know that this No. 77 Chevrolet squad has some speed. The +330 odds for him to score a top-10 result are a great long-shot NASCAR prop bet for this weekend’s action in Las Vegas.
📈 Pennzoil 400 trends & Las Vegas Motor Speedway history
Here are a few Pennzoil 400 trends to consider before betting on Sunday's race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
🏎️ Start up front, finish up front. Since the NextGen car debuted in 2022, five of the six races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway were won by drivers who started the race inside the top 10. The lone exception came in March 2022 when Alex Bowman won after leading only 16 laps.
🏎️ Can’t go wrong with Bell or Larson. Since 2023, either Christopher Bell or Kyle Larson has led the most laps in each event at Las Vegas. Larson has two wins over that span while Bell has zero, but Bell’s 216 laps led rank close behind Larson’s NASCAR-leading 378.
🏎️ Long shots have a long shot. None of the last 10 winners at Las Vegas scored their first NASCAR Cup Series victory in the process. In fact, no driver has ever recorded their first NASCAR Cup Series win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
💡 How to bet on NASCAR at Las Vegas
If you’re new to betting on NASCAR Cup Series racing on high-speed intermediates, here are a few key tricks to the trade:
- Don’t get too wild. While betting on long shots can be fun, they’re more likely to win at superspeedways, which feature more crashes and place more emphasis on the draft. High-speed intermediate races are usually won by, well, the usual suspects.
- Limit your exposure. With how predictable high-speed intermediate races can be, it’s generally wise to keep your action tied to a handful of drivers. Too big of a card will risk forfeiting potential winnings due to the high hold that sportsbooks charge for top drivers.
- Prioritize value over talent. Getting Christopher Bell or Kyle Larson at +400 just isn’t that good of a deal - especially not when you can get their teammates, like Ty Gibbs and Chase Elliott, at much longer odds.
