After being controversially banned from the 2020 Tokyo Games, American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson is primed for her Olympic moment. She is the clear favorite for Saturday's 100m race across best sports betting sites to win and stand atop on the podium.

Richardson's odds imply she has a 73% chance of winning the gold medal.

That's the polar opposite of the men's 100m final odds and prediction, featuring two front-runners jostling for favorite status.

Sha'Carri Richardson is priced at -275 to win the women's 100m final with her closest competitor trading at +500. She's fresh off winning the US Olympic Trials with a time of 10.71, just barely slower than her personal-best 10.65 from 2023.

Will Richardson prove our best sports betting apps right when the final goes down on Saturday at 3:20 p.m. ET? Or will a familiar face win her third gold medal in the event?

Olympic women's 100m final favorite

Sha'Carri Richardson (-275)

After being banned from the 2020 Olympics for testing positive for cannabis, Richardson looks to put the world on notice and announce herself as the fastest woman alive.

Her biggest competition - by the odds - come via Saint Lucia's Julien Alfred and two-time Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica. Fellow Jamaican sprinter Shericka Jackson pulled out of the 100m to focus on her specialty, the 200m race.

Fraser-Pryce has medaled in this event in each of the last four Olympics, a testament to her longtime dominance in the sport. However, that also indicates her status as the "veteran" competitor, while Richardson is young and hungry.

Richardson enters this race with momentum and plenty of support. She's the big favorite for a reason.

Olympic women's 100m final prediction

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (+1200)

Though these +1200 suggest Fraser-Pryce has just less than an 8% chance of winning the final, Richardson's odds are a bit too short to bet in such a volatile sport, so we're riding with the sprinter who's been here before (plenty of times).

Additionally, we can limit this bet to just a half-unit wager, as even $5 would result in $60 in profit if Fraser-Pryce wins. The legend is making her final Olympic appearance after dominating women's sprinting for over 15 years, so you know she's going to give this everything she has.

Odds: +1200 | Implied probability: 7.69%
