The Seattle Storm look to stay in the WNBA championship odds race as they visit the Los Angeles Sparks tonight at 10 p.m. ET (NBA TV) from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. With Kelsey Plum sidelined for L.A., our Storm vs. Sparks predictions - based on the best WNBA odds - are backing a big night from Skylar Diggins.
Storm vs. Sparks odds movement
The Sparks opened as a 1.5-point home favorite at our best sports betting sites, but the line has seen substantial movement leading up to the game. With Plum ruled out with a leg injury, the Storm are now favored by as many as 8.5 points on the road.
Storm vs. Sparks predictions
My Storm vs. Sparks best bet: Skylar Diggins Over 17.5 points (-115 via DraftKings)
While Diggins certainly still has plenty left in the tank at 34 years old, betting her Over tonight is as much about the Sparks' leaky defense as it is about the Notre Dame product's talent. Los Angeles' defense has been struggling all season, allowing the fourth-most points per game (86.0) in the W while ranking fourth-worst in efficieny rating (108.9).
Diggins can put plenty of pressure on this unit, similar to what we expect in our Caitlin Clark player props as part of our Sun vs. Fever predictions for tonight. The Sparks just have no business stopping a player as talented as Diggins. L.A. is allowing the third-highest 2-point percentage in the league (51.8%) and the fourth-most 3-pointers per game (9.2).
With issues inside and outside the arc, Diggins is capable of exposing Los Angeles in multiple ways. The six-time All-Star is 10th in the WNBA in points per game (18.1), 18th in 3-point percentage (39%), and ninth in made free throws (4.8).
She's sneakily been one of the best players in the league yet again this season for the overachieving Storm - she's 17th in PER (19.9), 12th in offensive win shares (0.8), and 12th in usage rate (27%). Diggins has gone Over 17.5 points in three straight games, and if she does again tonight, a $10 bet pays an $8.70 profit.
Storm vs. Sparks same-game parlay (SGP)
- Skylar Diggins Over 17.5 points (-115)
- Rickea Jackson Over 15.5 points (+100)
- Over 155 (-112)
+350 via FanDuel
Diggins is an ageless wonder, hitting 18-plus points in eight of 11 games this season. So if Los Angeles is going to keep up with her and the Storm, they need second-year forward Rickea Jackson to keep up her recent play.
Jackson, the No. 4 pick in last year's draft, has been flashing big-time ability as of late. The former Tennessee star is averaging 24 points in her last two outings while shooting 7-for-13 from three. Without Plum tonight, expect Jackson to continue seeing a higher volume of shots while building on the momentum of her recent play.
If Diggins and Jackson show up to play, this Over shouldn't have any trouble hitting. Los Angeles' defense has been so bad that the Sparks are the best Over team in the WNBA (7-2-1).
