Our Dream vs. Fever prediction backs Atlanta as a road underdog from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET (ION). While Indiana is still a WNBA championship odds contender, the Dream have been far more consistent this season, and Caitlin Clark continues to struggle.

This is the fourth time the Dream and Fever have played this season, and Atlanta has already won two of three games. Thanks to Allisha Gray's borderline MVP-level play in Karl Smesko's offense, the Dream have outscored the Fever 244 to 229 in those three matchups.

And while Indiana has shown it can compete with the WNBA's best at times, it's also been wildly inconsistent. The club just lost to the lowly Los Angeles Sparks, and the Golden State Valkyries blew out the Fever.

I'm pegging Atlanta to win again against Indiana in an 84-81 victory as part of my Dream vs. Fever prediction

The Dream's turnaround this season has been impressive. Smesko's wide-open offense that he brought over from Florida Gulf Coast has hit the ground running. Atlanta is fourth leaguewide in points per game (84.4), third in offensive rating (108.6), and third in made 3-pointers (9.4). With Gray, Rhyne Howard, and Brionna Jones leading the charge, the Dream should put plenty of pressure on the Fever's defense.

Indiana ranks a respectable sixth in defensive rating (101.8), but the team has been struggling far more lately. Six of the Fever's last eight opponents have put up 85-plus points against them, with the team allowing 82.1 points per contest during that stretch. That's up from a season average of 79.2. With both Gray (3.0) and Jones (2.0) ranking among the top 10 in offensive win shares, Indiana's defense will likely continue to slump.

Meanwhile, the Fever's offense has been sporadic lately, and it's running into one of the league's top defensive units. The Dream allow the third-fewest points per game (78.2), the third-fewest assists per game (18.5), and the fewest 3-pointers (6.4).

Getting Atlanta at +2.5 via BetMGM is a steal for this matchup, with our other best sports betting sites offering the Dream at just +1.5.

Clark looked just as bad as she had in the games leading up to her absence during the star's return from a groin injury. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year is coming off a 10-point outing against the Valkyries, and she's gone Over 18.5 points just once in her last four games. She's averaging 11.5 points and shooting 10.7% from three over that stretch.

The Dream will be a difficult team for Clark to get back on track against, with their perimeter defense being among the best in the WNBA. Clark finished with 11 points while going 0-for-5 from beyond the arc the last time she played the Dream.
