2025 NBA Skills Challenge predictions & expert pick to win
Four teams compete for the NBA Skills Challenge crown with three different rounds - team relay, team passing, and team shooting - and each squad goes one at a time. Last year's winner was the Indiana Pacers and their trio of Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, and Bennedict Mathurin.

📜 NBA Skills Challenge format & rules
Here's a look at the format and rules for how the NBA Skills Challenge works:
- Four teams made up of one guard and one forward compete
- Each team competes one at a time in each round while vying for challenge points
- A half-court shootout is the tiebreaker if there's a tie after the three rounds
- In the team relay, each player goes one at a time through a course that includes a 35-foot outlet pass, dribbling through moving pylons, making a shot in the lane, hitting a 3-pointer, and dribbling back down the court and making a basket to finish
- Each player gets three attempts during each portion of the relay, and if they fail all three they move on to the next part of the relay
- The team with the fastest combined relay time earns 100 points
- In the team passing portion, each team gets 30 seconds to log as many points as possible while making specific passes into moving targets
- The targets are a 35-foot outlet pass (two points), a 20-foot bounce pass (four points), and a 25-foot chest pass (six points)
- Each team must attempt at least one pass at each target and individual players cannot make consecutive attempts at the same target
- The team with the most points earns 100 points to their skills challenge point total
- In the team shooting portion, each team receives 60 seconds to score as many points as possible
- There are five different locations on the court where the players can shoot from, and each location is worth a different amount of points
- The locations are a 10-foot shot from the right (one point), an extended left elbow shot (two points), a 3-pointer from the top of the key (three points), a 3-pointer from the left corner (four points), and a 30-foot 3-pointer from the right slot (five points)
- Each team shares one basketball and each player gerts to attempt each shot at least once while alternating shooting locations (they cannot shoot from the same location consecutively)
- The team with the highest score earns 100 points to their skills challenge point total
- The team with the most skills challenge points after three rounds wins

🥇 Pick to win the Skills Challenge: Team Spurs (+200 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐
The best way to attack betting on the NBA Skills Challenge is to back the team with the most talented big man. All the guards are usually competent enough ball-handlers, passers, and shooters, so they won't make a significant enough difference from one team to the next. That's why the forward they're paired with is usually what makes or breaks a team.
The San Antonio Spurs' duo of Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama are the favorites for that reason, and I have no problem going with Team Spurs over the other three. Wemby is a complete alien and leads all true big men in 3-pointers per game this season (3.1) while putting up the second-most assists per game among the four forwards participating in this event (3.7).
Meanwhile, Chris Paul is one of the best ball-handlers and passers in NBA history, and at 39 years old he's still seventh in the league in assists per game (8.1). This title is either going to Wemby and CP3 or the Cleveland Cavaliers' tandem.
2025 NBA 3-Point Contest preview, expert picks & predictions
Coming off back-to-back NBA 3-Point Contest titles, Damian Lillard is attempting to three-peat on Saturday night. Here's a preview of the NBA 3-Point Contest, and why we don't think backing Lillard is the best bet.

🔢 Who is favored to win the NBA 3-Point Contest?
Damian Lillard is the favorite to win the 2025 NBA 3-Point Contest after taking the event each of the last two years. Lillard has won the contests while scoring 26 points out of a possible 40 (65%) across the last two seasons.
Here are the latest NBA 3-Point Contest odds across the best sports betting apps for Saturday's second event, which will start sometime after 8 p.m. ET.

🏆 Who will win the NBA 3-Point Contest?
Our NBA expert Andrew Brennan already broken down every aspect of the NBA 3-Point Contest with his picks to win, his favorite long shot, and his best prop bets for the event.
Here's a sneak peek at why Brennan is backing Darius Garland (+600) to win the NBA 3-Point Contest:
"The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the midst of a magical campaign, and they enter the All-Star break with the best record in the East. Of course, a big reason for that is Garland, who's shooting a career-best 43.1% from three this season."

2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest preview, expert picks & predictions
Another event with a back-to-back winner, Mac McClung is looking to complete the 3-peat at the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Here is a preview of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, and why McClung's odds are far too short to make him a worthwhile bet.

🔢 Who is favored to win the NBA Dunk Contest?
Mac McClung is the favorite to win the 2025 NBA 3-Point Contest after taking the event in two straight years. Two years ago he scored a 99.8 in the first round and a 100 in the finals to beat Trey Murphy III, and last year McClung recorded a 97.4 in the first round and a 98.8 in the finals to top Jaylen Brown.
Here are the latest NBA Dunk Contest odds via bet365 for Saturday's third and final event, which will start sometime after 8 p.m. ET.
- Mac McClung, -225 ($10 to win $4.44)
- Andre Jackson Jr., +550 ($10 to win $55)
- Matas Buzelis, +750 ($10 to win $75)
- Stephon Castle, +750 ($10 to win $75)
You can use our bet365 bonus code, SBRBONUS, to claim $100 in bonus bets or a $1,000 First Bet Safety Net by placing a wager of $5 or more on the NBA Dunk Contest or any other market!
🏆 Who will win the NBA Dunk Contest?
Can anyone dethrone the heavy favorite McClung this year? Brennan broke down the NBA Dunk Contest with his predictions to reach the final and best bet to win this year's contest.
Here's a sneak peek at why Brennan is backing Matas Buzelis (+750) to win the NBA Slam Dunk Contest:
"The 6-foot-10 Buzelis should at least look cool while performing the dunks considering how tall he is, and I guess that's the entire point of this thing. Additionally, Buzelis is +450 at BetMGM, so let's take advantage of these long odds at bet365."
