Almost a year ago to the day, the Milwaukee Bucks opened their season with a thrilling 118-17 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The two Eastern Conference foes meet again in the 2024-25 season opener tonight at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).

  • Paul George, who sustained a bone bruise and hyperextended knee during preseason, will have to wait to make his 76ers debut
  • Joel Embiid is also out
  • Milwaukee's Khris Middleton won't feature either, so new addition Gary Trent Jr. will probably have more opportunities to square up from beyond the arc
  • Tyrese Maxey was excellent as a scorer last season against the Bucks, and we expect that to continue

Milwaukee opens the season among the NBA championship odds and is the favorite in Philly. Our Bucks vs. 76ers NBA player prop bets highlight three Over picks featuring Damian Lillard, Maxey, and Trent Jr.

It’s hard to bet against Dame when the lights are brightest, and we can count on him showing up against Philadelphia’s loaded, new-look superteam.

Lillard’s Bucks debut was a masterful 39-point performance to lead the Bucks to victory over the 76ers in last season’s opener, and the superstar guard hit the Over on this line in two of three against Philadelphia.

Lillard averaged 35.7 PRAs last season and hit the Over in 41 of 73 appearances, good for 56.16% of his games.

We’re getting this prop at a slight discount, and we can comfortably expect Lillard to cash the Over, especially with key scorer and playmaker Middleton sidelined.

Tyrese Maxey prop bet Over 28.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Philly’s ascending point guard broke out last season, averaging a career-best 25.9 points. He averaged 28.3 points in three matchups with the Bucks and hit the Over on this scoring prop twice.

Maxey has hit the Over in three of seven against Milwaukee across the last two seasons combined, averaging 25.6 points in those contests. He ended last season on a heater, dropping 26.5 points per game after the All-Star break and 29 points across his final 12.

Both Joel Embiid and Paul George are out for the opener, which means Maxey should be an offensive focal point in this star-studded matchup. Philadelphia’s scoring options behind Maxey are limited, so expect plenty of volume and plenty of buckets.

Gary Trent Jr. prop bet: Over 2.5 made three-pointers ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +150 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 40%

Trent Jr.’s scoring prop is offered at a ludicrously low 12.5 points, but we can do better, and there's no more opportune time to swing for the fences than in October.

Over the last four seasons, GTJ has averaged 2.7 triples across 265 contests and knocked down at least three in 131 of those games. That’s good for 49.4%, which means the +150 odds we’re getting at DraftKings come at phenomenal value.

Last season, Trent Jr. averaged 3.3 triples in four matchups with Philly and hit the Over on this line three times.

With Middleton out and Milwaukee needing three-point shooting, we can count on Trent Jr. logging big minutes and letting it rip from beyond the arc. A winning $10 bet will profit $15.
