At long last, Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant makes his return to the court Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, which comes after his 25-game suspension to open the 2023-24 NBA season.

Morant isn't expected to have a minutes restriction, but the Pelicans (16-11) are favored by nearly double-digits against the Grizzlies (6-19), who have struggled mightily without their leading scorer and playmaker.

This SGP is my favorite way to bet on Morant's return, especially thanks to the -103 odds being offered at FanDuel. The Over on Morant's rebounds prop (4.5) is trading as high as -149 at our best sports betting apps, while the odds he records at least one steal against the Pelicans are closer to a -200 value.

With no minutes restriction, Morant should have no problem doing enough damage on the glass and defensively to cash this SGP. Those are areas where he can win with effort and his superior athletic ability, whereas there might be some rust that affects other parts of his game.

Morant averaged 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per contest a season ago. With a projection north of five rebounds and one steal in his 2023-24 season debut, we like his chances of cashing this SGP before the final buzzer.

Ja Morant Over 4.5 rebounds (-130 via ESPN BET) ⭐⭐⭐

This should be a popular prop for Morant in Tuesday's matchup, and for good reason. Morant has averaged more than five rebounds per contest in each of the last two seasons. He cleared this mark in 67% of his games last year.

According to StatMuse, Morant played 24 games without center Steven Adams last year. He averaged 6.4 rebounds per contest in the regular season, suggesting there are more boards to be had without the Memphis big man.

We have seen the market push this Over from -113 to -132 at FanDuel, which is why this prop is worth playing at ESPN BET. There is about a 10% edge on the Over based on our projection of roughly 5.5 rebounds for Morant.
