Will the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder (68-14) show that they're ready to take the next step as they begin their playoff run on today? A matchup against the No. 8 seed Memphis Grizzlies (48-34) at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City tips off at 1 p.m. ET (ABC).

The Thunder should have no problem against the Grizzlies in this series. But this is a loaded Western Conference, and every game will count. They are 13-point betting favorites, as the oddsmakers think they should get through their opener with relative ease.

🔥 Chet Holmgren Under 2.5 blocks ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was prepared to take the Over on Holmgren’s blocks prop this postseason, but his line was set at 2.5 for Game 1. That’s too high for a player that the Thunder might still be careful with this series to save him for later in the postseason.

Holmgren has finished with two or fewer blocks in seven of his past eight outings, including a zero-block performance against Memphis on March 27. I’ll fade him at this price, hoping for better value down the road.

🔥 Zach Edey Under 10.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

This is a tough playoff debut for rookie center Edey. He scored eight points on two shots (and four free-throws) in 17 minutes against the Thunder when they last met, struggling to get his usual production against Oklahoma City’s two-big lineup.

That wasn’t a coincidence, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Edey becomes less involved in this series. He only cleared this mark in six of his past seven regular-season games, so I don’t expect that trend to end in his first postseason action.

🔥 Jaren Jackson Jr. Over 1.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐

This line is as high as -154 at DraftKings, suggesting immense value with this price at bet365. That alone is enough for me to take the Over, but Jaren Jackson Jr. also dished four assists against the Thunder in their last regular-season matchup.

I like backing assist props for opposing big men against Oklahoma City because who wants to challenge those guys at the rim? I’m guessing this line will be trading at 2.5 later in the series, so take the discount now.
