For the first time in months, the national media had something positive to say about the Mavericks on Wednesday. Dallas dazzled in a 14-point win over the Sacramento Kings, despite being underdogs heading into the matchup. Jason Kidd's team defended well and shot even better.
Audiences saw a different side of the Mavericks in their first NBA Play-In Tournament game. They witnessed a team that spread the ball around offensively, and one that leaned on its veterans - namely, Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson - but not too heavily. It was a breath of fresh air from a team that finished the year sub-.500.
