Our Pelicans vs. Warriors player prop bets help shed some insight into the beauty of betting throughout the NBA regular season.

While some might avoid this game because Stephen Curry is sidelined for the Golden State Warriors, I see value in betting on the unknown. 

The oddsmakers at our best sportsbooks are also uncertain about how Steve Kerr will manage his rotation in a marquee matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on TNT at 10 p.m. ET.

Look no further than the visiting team to see how injuries can impact other players in the rotation. New Orleans point guard Dejounte Murray fractured his left hand in the season opener, leading the team with 10 assists in 30 minutes.

Ingram has been the team’s top facilitator since then. He paces the team with 10 potential assists per game in the previous two outings, finishing with 10 dimes.

His assists prop was trading at 4.5 on Sunday, with FanDuel’s closing price on the Over being -152. Bettors are getting a bargain with this -110 price, especially since I project 5.4 assists.

Jonathan Kuminga Under 2.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -125 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 55.56%

Common sense says that Kuminga will have a more significant role while Curry can’t play. Kuminga’s usage rate goes from 22% with Curry to 27% without him since last season, according to pbpstats.com.

But that likely means more points for Kuminga, so his scoring prop is trading at 20.5 after averaging eight points per contest through three games. I prefer to fade his passing, as Kuminga is averaging one assist per game this year after averaging 2.2 dimes a season ago.

Kuminga’s assists per 100 possessions actually drop without Curry, and he’s only averaging two potential assists per game this year. I’ll bet this Under at -136 or better.

The NBA Rookie of the Year odds race has been a mess through one week. No first-year player has been overwhelming in the box score early on, which is why New Orleans center Yves Missi has been one of the biggest risers in the market.

Missi is averaging 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game for the Pelicans. He’s likely to earn more playing time soon as New Orleans attempts to figure out its center position.

In a matchup against Golden State’s frontcourt, Missi should clear 20 minutes. He soared over this mark in the first two games before finishing with five points and three rebounds last time out. I’ll buy the dip, as I project him to clear this number on Tuesday.
