Pistons vs. Wizards ATS Pick

Wizards -5.5 (-110) ★★★★

Detroit comes in with the NBA's 25th-ranked offensive efficiency, which makes them the juggernaut of the two sides. Washington’s offensive efficiency lags while ranking 28th.

However, Washington’s shooting percentage sits near the top of the league, and Detroit’s team percentage is 29th. The Wizards benefit from veteran experience with a healthy Bradley Beal leading the way. Washington ranks inside the top 10 in defensive efficiency, which has been another area of concern for Detroit.

The Pistons are 1-7 against the spread over their last seven games against the Wizards in Washington. Detroit has potential because of its youth, but it’s going to take some time for the Pistons to put things together consistently.

Pistons vs. Wizards O/U Pick

Under 220.5 (-110) ★★★

The Pistons have been one of the NBA's worst defenses in 2022-23, allowing 121.0 points per game through the squad's first three contests. But while the Wizards should cover, they might not be able to take advantage of this leaky defense.

Washington’s bland 107.7 points per game is likely why we’ve seen the line move notably down since opening at 223. The Wizards can control the tempo against the more inexperienced Pistons, but they rank 28th of 30 teams in offensive efficiency.

Though Detroit is 3-0 to the Over, lean toward the Wizards (1-2 to the Over) setting the tone and playing their preferred style at home. Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey will make their marks, but Washington's defense that's limiting opponents to 108 points per game should get the edge while suppressing the overall scoring.

Pistons vs. Wizards Prop Pick

Beal Over 23.5 points (-110) ★★★

Beal produced three straight seasons averaging north of 25 points per game from 2018 to 2020, with two of those campaigns above 30 points. His most recent campaign was cut short due to an injury, but he was averaging close to this line of 23.5 points before going down.

The veteran is back to full health and working his way into the rhythm of a new season. The point guard scored 27 points during his most recent game in Cleveland, the first time he's cleared the 23.5 line over three attempts.

The Pistons' weak defense should provide the opportunity for Beal to produce another throwback performance. He’s shooting a ridiculous 61.7% from the field through three contests, and Beal should be able to find his shot against the inexperienced Pistons guards.
