Two of the more enigmatic teams in the NBA square off Monday when the Phoenix Suns (19-17) travel to take on the Los Angeles Clippers (22-13) in a potential Western Conference playoff preview between aspiring NBA Finals odds contenders.

The Suns shook off December with a four-game win streak into the new year, but they didn't look right Sunday after blowing a massive fourth-quarter lead to the Memphis Grizzlies. Similarly, the Clippers are looking to bounce back after a narrow loss to the crosstown rival Los Angeles Lakers, which saw Kawhi Leonard end the game on the bench.

Kawhi Leonard Over 24.5 points (-105 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This feels like a quintessential get-right spot for Leonard, who scored just 15 points in Sunday's loss to the Lakers and was dragged on social media after coach Ty Lue benched him late in the fourth quarter for what he blamed on a minutes restriction.

Something tells me that won't sit right with Leonard, who was averaging 30 points in his previous 10 games entering Sunday, clearing this total in eight of them. Now he faces a Suns team that ranks below league average in defensive rating (114.9) and is fresh off a late-game defensive collapse on Sunday night.

Just five days ago, Leonard dropped 30 points on Phoenix in a collective 131-point effort for his side. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a similar effort on Monday.

Devin Booker Over 7.5 assists (+114 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As teammates Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal rotate in and out of the Suns lineup, Booker has been a steadying hand for Phoenix in an otherwise frustrating campaign. And he's embraced the role of facilitator amid his team's fluctuating rotation.

Only six players are averaging more assists per game than Booker (7.9), whose career-high assist rate (36.9%) ranks fifth in the NBA and is nearly 40% higher than his mark last season. He's already dished out eight or more assists in 12 of his first 27 starts, and he's dropped below seven dimes just four times in 17 starts since Dec. 1.

We're catching an attractive plus-money price on this bet even after Booker finished with 10 and eight assists in his last two games, respectively, and had six assists in his previous meeting with L.A. There's some slight risk here with this number, but it's worth it at these odds.

Jusuf Nurkic Over 10.5 rebounds (-105 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We're going with three Overs for Monday's nightcap in a matchup we don't expect to feature a ton of defense, much like we saw when these teams met just a few days ago.

That's great news for Nurkic, who has been a beast on the boards in his first year with Phoenix. Entering this week, the 10-year veteran ranks second across the entire league in rebound rate (21.4%), and he's one of just eight players with at least 10.5 rebounds per game.

He's also coming off a monstrous 19-rebound effort in Sunday's loss to Memphis, which you would think would lead to a more inflated total on Monday. Instead, he's catching a total that he's already cleared in nine of his last 12 games. We like our chances on that happening again in this one.
