After getting embarrassed by Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid - who is now the NBA MVP odds favorite after his 70-point performance - the San Antonio Spurs will try to shake that off Wednesday against another MVP contender when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder come to town.

SGA might not put up 70 points against the Spurs, but could he be in for a historic night in this matchup? The Spurs (8-35) have only one win in their last six games, while the Thunder (30-13) sit atop the Western Conference standings at this point in the season.

SGP: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 5.5 assists + Thunder ML (+114 via ESPN BET) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After watching Embiid put up 70 points, bettors might be eager to bet on SGA's scoring prop against the same team. But we prefer attacking his assists prop, as the Thunder point guard is averaging 6.4 assists per contest and has cleared 5.5 assists in 28 of his 42 games this season.

The truth is, I do like this assists prop on its own. With a projections of 6.4 dimes, this line should be priced about -150 on the Over. You can get a -145 value on this as a straight wager at bet365.

That said, I love the idea of a plus-money option by adding Thunder's moneyline value in a same-game parlay at ESPN BET. This same SGP is listed at -102 via FanDuel, which is more accurate. DraftKings is a solid option, too, offering +112 odds on this SGP.

Chet Holmgren Over 15.5 points (-111 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In a game between the top Rookie of the Year odds contenders, Oklahoma City's Chet Holmgren can leap San Antonio's Victor Wembanyama as the betting favorite with a big performance in this matchup. Holmgren certainly has to be eager for this showdown after watching Embiid's 70-point performance.

Holmgren is averaging 17.1 points per game this season, which is right in line with his projections for Wednesday's battle. That's why we have seen a shop like FanDuel bump his points prop up from 15.5 to 16.5. Pinnacle, which features one of the sharper trading teams in the business, is charging as much as -148 for this Over.

We can grab some value with this -111 wager at Caesars, especially since it's correlated to SGA's assists prop. Gilgeous-Alexander has recorded 60 assists by dishing it to Holmgren this season, a combo that leads the team.

Victor Wembanyama Under 3.5 assists (-120 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

While we don't mind the idea of taking the Over on Wembanyama's points prop of 22.5 (-120 via BetMGM), the Under on his assist prop at bet365 for the same price is likely the better look for this matchup.

Wembanyama is averaging 2.9 assists per game this season but has fallen short of this mark in two of his last five games and four of his last 10. For the season, he's averaging just 5.4 potential assists per game. The Thunder, meanwhile, are one of the best teams in the league at limiting assists to opposing big men.

With a projection below three dimes, there is value in grabbing the -120 price on this Under before tipoff. The same ticket cost as much as -148 at FanDuel.
