The Wizards will play their fifth straight road game. The team should be in good spirits after defeating the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday and snapping a 10-game skid. Kristaps Porzingis is questionable due to an illness that sidelined him against the Suns, but the club is otherwise healthy.

Meanwhile, the Jazz return home after three games on the road and a 1-2 record in those contests. Lauri Markkanen led the way in Utah’s most recent victory with career highs in points (38) and triples (nine). Washington will need to contain the breakout big man if it hopes to steal a second straight win on the road. The Jazz will be without Collin Sexton and Kelly Olynyk.

The spread opened with Utah as 5.5-point favorites, and that line has only moved half a point in favor of the Jazz. Utah is 9-7 against the spread at home in 2022-23, but just 3-6 as the home favorite and 3-7 against Eastern Conference opponents. The Jazz have covered in four of their last six games, including each of the team's previous two at home.

Washington is just 7-8-2 on the road, but has covered its last two contests. The Wizards are 7-5 against Western Conference opponents.

The point total has crept up to 230 after opening at 229, and oddsmakers are expecting a fairly high-scoring affair. The Jazz are 18-16 to the Over, including 7-5 as the favorite, 8-8 at home, and 5-4 as the home favorite. The Over has cashed in Utah's last two games and three of its last four. Washington is just 15-17 overall but 6-5 following a win. The Under has hit in the Wizards' last three games and six of the last eight.

Kyle Kuzma Over 29.5 points (+500 FanDuel), Kuzma double-double (+350 DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There are a lot of factors working in Kuz’s favor on Thursday, and we’ll look to take advantage with some delicious plus-money odds.

The Jazz allow the fifth most points per game overall and the seventh most at home in 2022-23. This could be a high-scoring matchup in Salt Lake City. That bodes well for Kuzma, who could need to carry Washington's offense if Kristaps Porzingis is out due to an illness. Porzingis sat out the Wizards’ last game, and Kuzma posted 29 points in a win over the Phoenix Suns. Kuzma is averaging 29.7 points across three games with Porzingis sidelined. He posted a double-double in one of those affairs with a 36-11-6 line against the Dallas Mavericks. 

We can expect him to get some buckets, but what about grabbing boards? We’re in luck, as the Jazz are surrendering the 11th-most rebounds to opponents in 2022-23.

Kuzma’s points prop is set firmly at 21.5 across the major sportsbooks. But as always, I’ll look for more profitable odds at FanDuel and PointsBet. Both books offer alternative props, and typically at plus money. Sell eight points and boost your odds all the way to +500 at FanDuel.

For the double-double prop, FanDuel and PointsBet offer the least favorable odds. DraftKings is the preferred book at +350.
