Auburn vs. Florida Early Picks, Predictions & Odds: March Madness Final Four

For the first time since 2008, all four No. 1 seeds are playing in the Final Four, setting up an electric final weekend to March Madness, with Auburn and Florida getting the fun started at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday at 6:09 p.m. ET (CBS).

Despite the Tigers being the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Auburn vs. Florida early picks, predictions, and odds for their March Madness Final Four matchup favor the Gators.

With Johni Broome's elbow injury creating questions for Bruce Pearl's team, Auburn has the longest March Madness odds of the remaining four teams entering the Final Four, and Florida is a 2.5-point betting favorite against the Tigers.

Despite Florida needing a second-half comeback against Texas Tech to earn its spot in the Final Four, the Gators opened as 2.5-point favorites against an Auburn team they beat 90-81 earlier in the season. Given the outcome of that first matchup, the Tigers' inconsistent play the last few weeks, and Broome's elbow injury, it's no surprise to see Florida hovering around -2.5 at our March Madness betting sites.

Without knowing how serious Broome's right elbow injury is - he left the game against Michigan State but returned and continued to favor his elbow throughout - it's tough to get a feel for this spread right now. Broome is the second-best player in the country after Wooden Award odds favorite Cooper Flagg, and if he's hindered, Auburn could look like a completely different team.

So with the uncertainty around Broome, I like targeting the Over right now with these being two of the best offenses in the country. Florida is No. 2 and Auburn is No. 3 in adjusted offensive efficiency, per KenPom, and both programs are top 60 nationally in field goal percentage, made 3-pointers per game, and PPG.

Outside of Flagg, Florida's Walter Clayton Jr. has been the best player in the tournament, and Broome isn't far behind (he even hit a 3-pointer immediately upon returning from injury to the Tigers' Elite Eight win over Michigan State). Both players are surrounded by lethal shooters, too.

These are two of the better Over teams in the country - a combined 42-33 - and when they played on Feb. 8, they cruised past the game total (156) while combining for 171 points.  Even if Broome is just 75%, I think this will be an offensive explosion.

💸 Moneyline

Don't be surprised if the moneyline moves even further in Florida's direction at our best sports betting sites. The Gators entered March Madness as the hottest team in the country after their SEC tournament run and Clayton has been a force. Plus, Broome's injury will likely scare the public off of Auburn.

📈 Spread

  • Auburn best odds: +2.5 (-105 via DraftKings) | Implied probability: 000%
  • Florida best odds: -2.5 (-110 via bet365) | Implied probability: 52.38%

Even if Broome hadn't injured his non-shooting elbow in the second half against Michigan State, I still think Florida would have opened as the favorite. The Gators have the second-highest handle percentage at BetMGM and have been a popular non-Duke pick to win it all.

Given the public's love for the Gators, I could see this line moving as far as -3.5. However, if Broome's elbow injury isn't as serious as it looked, this line could move toward the Tigers and end up with Florida favored by just 1.5.

⚖️ Over/Under

  • Over best odds: 160.5 (-110 via Caesars) | Implied probability: 52.38%
  • Under best odds: 160.5 (-110 via FanDuel) | Implied probability: 52.38%

Without a doubt, this is a high game total, but these are two of the three best offenses in the country and Clayton and Broome have both been lighting up the scoreboard as of late. While both teams have solid defenses, they both play an offensive brand of basketball that lends to higher scoring games.

Don't expect this Over/Under to see much movement, especially after how high scoring the Gators' and Tigers' regular season matchup was this year.

🖥️ AI score prediction: Florida 78, Auburn 74

  • The Gators have demonstrated resilience throughout the tournament, notably overcoming a 10-point deficit against Texas Tech to secure their Final Four berth
  • Florida's offense is spearheaded by senior guard Walter Clayton Jr., whose clutch performances have been pivotal in their tournament run
  • Johni Broome's versatility and experience have been instrumental in Auburn's success, however, his recent elbow injury is a concern, and his status will be closely monitored leading up to the game

🤔 Betting takeaway: ChatGPT's AI prediction would mean Florida covering the spread (-2.5) and a total of Under 160.5 points. ChatGPT is not a dedicated sports betting model, but it can identify data that March Madness bettors might overlook.
