College basketball best bets.

Our college basketball player props and best bets for Monday based on the best college basketball odds aim to navigate a small slate of games.

As college football nears its conclusion, college hoops games are abundant until April with multiple marquee matchups nearly every night. That said, the upcoming slate won't be mistaken for a Big Monday.

Purdue and Iowa will engage in a Big Ten showdown on Monday, marking the best matchup of the night and one of just two games featuring a ranked team. The Boilermakers aim to bounce back after suffering an upset at unranked Northwestern on Friday, dropping them from the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll in this week's updated rankings.

Here are our college basketball player props and best bets for Monday (odds via our best March Madness betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Monday’s college basketball player props

Payton Sandfort (Iowa) Over 10.5 points (-115 via BetMGM) vs. Purdue ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It speaks to Monday's slate when a Big Ten matchup with a double-digit spread is the most intriguing clash of the night. The Boilermakers should bounce back in a big way during this matchup, but don't expect to see any sort of value on Purdue props.

Iowa ranks 111th in adjusted defensive efficiency in the country. Combine that with a rebound spot for Purdue, and many of the prop markets are a bit inflated ahead of this game. Alternatively, we're getting some discounted prices for an Iowa team that ranks 15th in adjusted offensive efficiency.

The Hawkeyes are going to score, so it's just a matter of trying to figure out who's the best player to target. I like the idea of backing Iowa power forward Payton Sandfort, particularly if Purdue big man Zach Edey is defending the other front-court player.

Sandfort is averaging 14.3 points per game, clearing this mark in five of his seven outings thus far. He's coming off a 10-point performance last time out, but he played just 21 minutes in that contest. Sandfort is averaging 24.4 minutes per game and has started all seven Iowa outings.

With a projection of roughly 13 points, there's value in taking this current Over at BetMGM. But act fast, as DraftKings charges a -135 price for the same Over, while FanDuel is listing his point prop as high as 11.5.

ShotQuality gives Iowa more of a chance than most while projecting a 76.6-71.2 win for Purdue. We like this prop even better if the Hawkeyes can stay within striking distance on Monday.
