No. 1 seed Duke (34-3) faces No. 2 seed Alabama (28-8) in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, battling for a spot in the Final Four. Tipoff is set for 8:49 p.m. ET at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. (TBS/truTV), with the Blue Devils serving as 6.5-point betting favorites.

This game is projected to be a track meet with the highest projected total of any of the four Elite Eight matchups (O/U 173.5). What does that mean from a player prop perspective?

Our Duke vs. Arizona player props and parlay odds take a contrarian approach with a Tyrese Proctor pick, but backs the Over in plays involving Grant Nelson and Aden Holloway.

We cashed a three-leg parlay that paid +701 odds with our Duke vs. Arizona player prop predictions and are looking to continue that momentum with our March Madness predictions in the Elite Eight.

🔥 Tyrese Proctor Under 14.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

One of the easiest cashes in our winning +701 three-leg parlay in the Duke-Arizona matchup was Tyrese Proctor Under 2.5 made 3-pointers.

It was a bold pick considering he came into that game having made six-plus 3-pointers in three consecutive games, but we were of the mindset that the Wildcats were not going to let him go off.

We should not have to worry much about Proctor bombing away from 3-point range in this matchup, as Alabama allows opponents to shoot fewer than 35% of their field-goal attempts from 3-point range (51st-lowest in D-I).

Considering 211 of Proctor’s 347 field-goal attempts (60.8%) came from beyond the arc, that lowers his ceiling for points considerably if the Crimson Tide run him off the 3-point line at their usual rate.

I am not swayed by the fact that Proctor’s projected point total has risen from 13.5 to 14.5 since Friday afternoon, and am instead glad for the extra point’s worth of value.

🔥 Grant Nelson Over 7.5 rebounds ⭐⭐⭐

Grant Nelson scored just six points against BYU, which may seem blasphemous considering the team set a Sweet 16 record with 113 points. And while Nelson has scored in single digits in four of the previous five games, he still routinely finds other ways to contribute.

Nelson has grabbed eight or more rebounds in each of the last two NCAA Tournament games.

And if you’re worried that Duke is one of the most physical teams Alabama has faced this season, know that Nelson has pulled down eight or more rebounds in games against Tennessee, Texas A&M, Houston, and Auburn (twice) this season.

📊 Best odds: +104 via FanDuel ($10 to win $10.40)

🔥 Aden Holloway Over 11.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Most of Duke’s defensive attention, and rightfully so, will center around Mark Sears in this matchup, after he drilled 10 threes on Thursday.

But per OptaSTATS, Alabama made history of other kinds on Thursday in how it shared the basketball, as two other players hit five 3-pointers in addition to Sears’ double-digit total.

Duke entered the Sweet 16 having allowed 30-plus points at the rim just twice this season. So while Alabama’s offense is heavily predicated on “rim-and-3” shots, we predict it will shoot from beyond the arc in volume, even if it doesn’t match the 51 3-point attempts it took against BYU.

Holloway should be one of the biggest beneficiaries of that “firing away from deep” mentality. I would back Holloway’s 3-point Over up to 2.5 (-130) when those odds become available.
