No. 1 seed Houston (33-4) faces No. 2 seed Tennessee (30-7) in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, battling for a spot in the Final Four. Tipoff is set for 2:20 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis (CBS), with the Cougars serving as 3.5-point betting favorites.

This game is projected to be a rock fight with the lowest projected total of any of the four Elite Eight matchups (O/U 123.5). What does that mean from a player prop perspective?

Anytime I can get Zakai Zeigler, the player with the highest assist rate in SEC play (41.9%) and the fourth-highest assist rate in the country (42.1%), at plus-money odds for his assist total, I am going to jump at the opportunity.

BetMGM has the longest odds for Zeigler to finish with eight or more assists, even though the Volunteers point guard has done so in three of the previous four games. 

Tennessee’s team total O/U is 60.5 points, but Purdue’s Braden Smith just tallied 15 assists on the team’s 21 made field goals against Houston, and Zeigler can take the game over in much of the same way.

With this game having a projected total in the low 120s, it figures to feature plenty of missed shots. And with each team boasting an offensive rebounding percentage that ranks in the top 20 in the country, at times their best offense may be a missed shot.

Roberts has eight or more rebounds in back-to-back NCAA Tournament games, which coincided with playing 32-plus minutes in two of three games since missing time in the Big 12 tournament.
