🔵 Boldest pick: BYU over Alabama
Without any real magic in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, our March Madness Sweet 16 Cinderella watch is focused on power conference programs that are clear underdogs. My favorite bold pick of the Sweet 16 is BYU taking down Alabama in a game I suspect could end up with the highest total of March Madness.
Both teams love to shoot threes, play defense like it's optional, and are among the top 10 teams in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency, per KenPom. If BYU's Richie Saunders plays against Alabama the way he did against Wisconsin, the Crimson Tide could be in trouble.
The Cougars' run to the Sweet 16 has also benefited from out-of-nowhere 3-point shooting improvements from Egor Demin, who we highlighted as a March Madness star who helped his NBA draft stock after the first two rounds.
Playing such similar styles, I think it will be much more of a toss-up than the odds suggest, especially with how Alabama struggled against No. 15 seed Robert Morris in the first round.

🏴☠️ Boldest pick: Texas Tech over Florida

Is taking a No. 3 seed to reach the Final Four really that bold?
With how few upsets there have been and all four No. 1 seeds seemingly being a notch above the rest of the field, it sure is this season. Taking the Red Raiders to beat Florida, who came into March Madness as the hottest team in the country, is an extra spicy bet.
Florida's offense is spectacular with Walter Clayton Jr. leading the charge, but the Gators were nearly upset by No. 8 seed UConn in the second round, and Texas Tech has a more potent scorer than the Huskies. All-American JT Toppin is the key to this upset, and his physicality could prove challenging for this Florida defense.
He's not alone, either, with fellow frontcourt monster Darrion Williams, sharpshooter Chance McMillian expected to be back, and passing extraordinaire Elijah Hawkins. It helps Grant McCasland's team that it will have played only double-digit seeds to reach the Elite Eight, meaning the team might feel slightly less wear and tear than the Gators.

🐯 Boldest pick: Auburn to reach national championship
It really goes to show how uninspiring the Sweet 16 field is if I'm claiming Auburn, the No. 1 overall seed in the whole dang tournament, is a bold choice to reach the championship. I only call it bold because I don't see any way Bruce Pearl's team wins March Madness with how it's played lately.
However, getting No. 5 seed Michigan and then potentially (based on my bracket) No. 6 seed Ole Miss and No. 3 seed Texas Tech would make the path to the title far easier than expected. The Tigers haven't played like a dominant force recently, and Johni Broome has not looked all that great in the NCAA Tournament.
Michigan could very well take Auburn down with its pair of bigs, Danny Wolf and Vladislav Goldin, offering a challenging matchup. But, despite the sporadic showing from some of their stars thus far, I have the Tigers winning thanks to their guard play.

😈 March Madness championship pick: Duke
It's been my pick from the start, and Duke has given me zero reasons to waver. This is the most talented team in the NCAA Tournament, which is why the Blue Devils are the March Madness odds favorites.
The crazy part is that Wooden Award odds favorite Cooper Flagg hasn't even had to light it up with how efficient teammates like Tyrese Proctor and Kon Knueppel have played. This is the most well-rounded team in the country, and it boasts the best two-way player in Flagg.
It's going to take a nearly flawless game to knock this Duke team out of the NCAA Tournament.
