When these two teams met earlier this season, the Tigers won 82-65 by shooting 52.7% from the field, 50% from 3-point range, and outrebounding the Wolfpack 44-24. In that game, the Wolfpack shot just 35.9% from the field, and though they won the turnover battle 21-13, they never had a chance to win for the final 30 minutes of the game.
Despite how dominant the Tigers were, the spread for this game is only 3.5 points. This feels like a trap from oddsmakers at our best sports betting sites. The Wolfpack are 17-2 in their last 19 games, so they’re one of the hottest teams in the country. However, the head-to-head matchup is likely to resonate more with bettors.
All that said, I’m siding with the oddsmakers in this one and backing the Wolfpack to keep this close and possibly win. Their final game before the NCAA Tournament was a 76-62 loss to the Duke Blue Devils, but they also beat Duke earlier this season 89-83. Their only other loss during the last two months was a one-point defeat to the North Carolina Tar Heels. They got revenge in the ACC Tournament, winning by 11.
NC State is also the third-most bet team to win on the moneyline at BetMGM during the Sweet 16.

This game is a toss-up. The Tigers started the season 20-0, but they’re just 10-5 since then. They’ve lost three of their last six games, and though they’ve blown out both of their NCAA Tournament foes, their performance against the SEC at the end of the season is worrisome.
The Wolfpack have been great down the stretch, but they were also dominated by the Tigers earlier this season. Therefore, it would be irresponsible to completely write off the Tigers. I’ll take the Wolfpack to narrowly pull off the upset, but I won’t be surprised if either team advances.
