Top College Basketball Parlay Picks for Sunday: Doubling Up On Summit League Tournament Showdown

With various conference tournaments already underway, college basketball heats up Sunday as we search for our parlay picks. We're diving into the spirit of March with picks from that tournament action to build Sunday's parlay.

Here are my top parlay picks for Sunday’s college basketball action (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

College Basketball Parlay Predictions

Charleston-Hofstra Under 158.5 (-115)

It's the notion of adjustments that leads me to believe Sunday's CAA tournament opener between Charleston and Hofstra ends Under the lofty total.

These teams just played each other in their final regular-season game, which featured a score that would have blasted past Sunday's total. Hofstra won the second meeting of the season on Feb. 28, a track meet that finished 89-84. Though Charleston ranks with KenPom's fastest adjusted tempo in the country this season, that doesn't mean all of its games end up with ridiculous point totals.

The first meeting between these teams this season featured just 149 points in a 76-73 final, also claimed by Hofstra. You should expect another close game Sunday. Both teams have been among the most consistent for the Over this season, coming in at 18-12 and 17-12 respectively. However, Sunday's total of 158.5 - though it's down sharply from 160.5 earlier Sunday morning - is still easily the highest on the board.

The previous meetings suggest each side may approach things a bit differently, and the high degree of recent familiarity will lead to a more subdued total than last week's scoring bonanza.

South Dakota-Kansas City Under 137 (+100)

We're hitting another conference tournament Under for the second leg of our college basketball parlay picks. As the intensity of the moment ramps up, misses can come in bunches for even quality shooting teams. This is especially true for teams that play tournaments in large multi-purpose venues, which offer more difficult sightlines than smaller gyms. South Dakota and Kansas City fit that line of thinking.

These teams faced off twice this season in Summit League play, with both totals falling short of Sunday's 137. Kansas City won both affairs by scores of 72-63 and 68-57.

This game features two teams that run slow paces with mediocre offenses. Combine those elements with the pressurized environment of a conference tournament setting and I don't anticipate either side elevating its scoring. I like the Under in this game down to 135, as both teams find scoring difficult in a neutral, 12,000 seat Denny Sanford Premier Center.

Kansas City -1 (-105)

It's unclear why Sunday's game is a virtual pick'em considering Kansas City's dominance in the past two contests.

Prior to a loss in its final regular-season game to South Dakota State (which finished 18-0 in conference play), Kansas City was playing some of its best basketball. The Kangaroos won seven of their previous eight to earn a four-seed in the conference tournament.

The small spread comes from the nearly even nature of these teams, according to the metrics. KenPom has just six teams separating Kansas City (No. 198) and South Dakota (No. 205) in the rankings, which suggests a close game on a neutral floor.

However, I trust the way Kansas City has handled its business decisively against the Coyotes this season, and I like the Kanragoos to advance to the semifinals of the Summit League tournament for another date with South Dakota State.
