The women's NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 wraps up today, and eight teams are looking to advance to the next round.

The day's opener is the No. 2 seed TCU Horned Frogs (33-3) against the No. 3 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish (28-5). Tipoff from Legacy Arena at BJCC in Birmingham, Ala., is at 1 p.m. ET (ABC).

When these two teams met on Nov. 29, the Horned Frogs won 76-68. If you merely look at the final score, you may be surprised to see the Fighting Irish favored. However, that final result doesn’t tell the whole story. The Fighting Irish led most of that game and saw their lead swell to 14 in the third quarter before the Horned Frogs went on a run to end the game.

The Horned Frogs’ Hailey Van Lith scored 21 points, while teammate Sedona Prince scored 20 and pulled down an incredible 20 rebounds. Yet, even with those performances, the Horned Frogs needed a miraculous comeback to secure the win.

This is the fourth consecutive Sweet 16 for the Fighting Irish, and that experience will be a massive factor in this game. Rather than mounting a wild comeback in the final 10 minutes, I expect the Horned Frogs to tighten up in their first Sweet 16 appearance, as the Irish pull away and cover the spread.

🔥 Sedona Prince 12+ rebounds ⭐⭐⭐

The Horned Frogs’ leading rebounder is averaging 9.5 per game this season. Prince pulled down 14 boards thus far in the NCAA Tournament but only recorded four in 40 minutes against the Louisville Cardinals in the second round.

Prince has pulled down at least 14 rebounds in three of her last six games, including a 19-rebound game against the Baylor Bears on March 2. While Prince is unlikely to pull down 20 boards as she did back in November against the Fighting Irish, the prop will hit with eight fewer rebounds.

Prince’s standard line is set at 9.5, and while that total is favorable, the price is not. FanDuel is asking -144 for the Over. Rather than pay a lot of juice, I’ll take her to pull down two extra rebounds for a great price. After all, her performance against the Fighting Irish wasn’t that much of an outlier. The Horned Frogs only allow 57.5 points per game, but that didn’t bother the Fighting Irish the first time these two teams met. The Fighting Irish finished with just 68 points, primarily because they collapsed in a 12-point fourth quarter. This is a team that averages over 85 per game.

The Horned Frogs needed a 31-point fourth quarter to score 76 in the first meeting. They didn’t score over 18 in any other quarter. I’ll take them to struggle to hit 20 in any quarter again, just missing 70 for the game.
