I promise this pick isn't solely an attempt to get Dowdle to do something for my fantasy team(s).
I firmly believe Dowdle is the most talented running back on the Cowboys' roster. He strengthened his grip atop the backfield depth chart each of the last two weeks and outsnapped ineffective veteran Ezekiel Elliott 37-15 in last week's blowout home loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
He received 11 touches in each of his last two games and averaged better than five yards per touch in each outing. I expect him to finally break the goal line against a Giants defense allowing 5.35 yards per carry and 7.88 yards per reception to running backs.

Much like Dowdle, Tracy's snap share has improved each week, though he remains clearly behind veteran Devin Singletary. The fifth-round rookie received a career-high seven touches in last week's win over the Cleveland Browns and turned those into an efficient 40 yards from scrimmage while being equally effective as a runner and receiver.
Though the Giants are 6-point home underdogs for Thursday Night Football, I expect both teams to opt for a slower pace to try to protect their floundering defensive play. That game script would favor all rushers.
Tracy and Singletary could both feast against a Dallas defense that has allowed seven total touchdowns to running backs through three weeks.
