Ranking the Best Betting Sites for NFL Futures

It's one thing for a sportsbook to boast that it offers the best NFL odds in a given category – but how can bettors know if that claim is true? We've broken down which of the best sportsbooks has the most user-friendly NFL futures odds entering the 2023 season – and some of the results might surprise you.
Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned rankings list? And this one comes just in time for the start of the NFL season, the busiest time on the North American betting calendar.
We've scoured the futures odds for five of the best sports betting sites in the U.S. to determine which sportsbooks are providing the most value to their players. We have awarded points to each sportsbook based on the quality of odds offered for the top 10 betting options across each of the eight most notable NFL futures markets:
- Super Bowl champion
- Most Valuable Player
- Offensive Player of the Year
- Defensive Player of the Year
- Offensive Rookie of the Year
- Defensive Rookie of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Comeback Player of the Year
Here's our ranking of the five biggest sportsbooks in terms of futures odds for marquee NFL futures markets (odds accurate as of Aug. 30).
1. FanDuel
Super Bowl Odds: 4th
NFL MVP Odds: 4th
Offensive Player of the Year Odds: 1st
Defensive Player of the Year Odds: 2nd
Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 1st
Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 1st
Coach of the Year Odds: 1st
Comeback Player of the Year Odds: 1st
As you might expect, FanDuel and DraftKings are at the top of the heap when it comes to the quality of NFL futures odds – with the Flutter-owned behemoth winning the day by a slim margin.
The biggest difference: FanDuel offers superior odds across most of the top individual-focused NFL futures markets, including Offensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year. Most notably, it has Justin Fields at +2800 to win OPOY (no other book is higher than +2200) and lists Sean Payton at +1400 for COY (well ahead of DK's +900).
I would like to see FanDuel improve the quality of its Super Bowl and league MVP odds; it's mildly surprising that the No. 1 sports betting site in the U.S. has the worst odds on three of the top-10 betting options, including the Dallas Cowboys. But you simply cannot quibble with what it's doing everywhere else on the NFL futures ledger, making this a must-have NFL betting app.
2. DraftKings
Super Bowl Odds: 2nd
NFL MVP Odds: 1st
Offensive Player of the Year Odds: 2nd
Defensive Player of the Year Odds: 1st
Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 2nd
Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 2nd
Coach of the Year Odds: 4th
Comeback Player of the Year Odds: 2nd
There's no shame in finishing second by such a narrow margin; aside from Coach of the Year, DraftKings is actually the more consistent sportsbook of the two, boasting either the best or second-best odds across the remainder of the NFL awards markets.
Some of the best places to lock in a DraftKings play include NFL MVP wagers on Joe Burrow, Josh Allen or Justin Herbert; Offensive Player of the Year futures on Lamar Jackson or Garrett Wilson; and Defensive Player of the Year bets on Myles Garrett or T.J. Watt.
If DraftKings opts to improve some of its Coach of the Year odds (it has the worst value on both Sean Payton and Matt Eberflus, two of the top three favorites), it could move into the top spot in time for the start of the season. Either way, DraftKings is a must-add app this season.

3. BetMGM
Super Bowl Odds: 1st
NFL MVP Odds: 3rd
Offensive Player of the Year Odds: 4th
Defensive Player of the Year Odds: 5th
Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 4th
Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 4th
Coach of the Year Odds: 2nd
Comeback Player of the Year Odds: NA
Let's start with the positives: BetMGM has the best odds of any major sports betting site when it comes to the most popular futures market out there: Super Bowl futures. And that's reason alone why you need BetMGM this NFL season.
Unfortunately, that's where the good times end for the legendary lion, which ranks fourth or last in four of the eight categories and doesn't even have a Comeback Player of the Year market (which is actually worse than having the worst odds for a particular futures play).
Perhaps the most incredible statistic I can share: Across the eight notable NFL awards markets we list, BetMGM has the standalone best odds on zero entries. In short, BetMGM is competitive, but you won't find any standout value there.

4. bet365
Super Bowl Odds: 5th
NFL MVP Odds: 5th
Offensive Player of the Year Odds: 3rd
Defensive Player of the Year Odds: 3rd
Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 5th
Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 3rd
Coach of the Year Odds: 3rd
Comeback Player of the Year Odds: 3rd
For all the reasons I lay out why NFL bettors need bet365 this season, the quality of its futures odds isn't one of them.
The globally renowned sportsbook has the lowest prices on several key players and teams in the above markets, including the worst numbers on MVP favorites Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow. bet365 also features the worst overall prices in the Offensive Rookie of the Year category, while failing to rank better than third anywhere.
Players will find a lot to love about bet365 over the course of the NFL season, but when it comes to making their futures bets, they're better off looking elsewhere.
5. Caesars
Super Bowl Odds: 3rd
NFL MVP Odds: 2nd
Offensive Player of the Year Odds: 5th
Defensive Player of the Year Odds: 4th
Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 3rd
Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds: 5th
Coach of the Year Odds: 5th
Comeback Player of the Year Odds: NA
Caesars narrowly finishes at the bottom of the list despite actually boasting decent odds for both the Super Bowl and for NFL MVP.
The real difference-maker here is that, while Caesars does provide some strong pricing on certain players and teams, it also has more "lowest value" picks than any other sportsbook featured on this list. That includes Jalen Hurts for NFL MVP, Ja'Marr Chase for Offensive Player of the Year, and Arthur Smith, Matt Lafleur, and Doug Pederson for Coach of the Year.
Add in the fact that, like BetMGM, Caesars doesn't offer Comeback Player of the Year odds, and we simply can't recommend this sportsbook as your one and only choice for NFL futures. But you've got plenty of other reasons to make Caesars a part of your betting experience in 2023.

Methodology
Each sportsbook was given a score from 1 to 5 points (1 being the best, 5 being the worst) based on the potential payout for a given futures market. If multiple sportsbooks had the same odds, they would be awarded identical points based on their ranking (for example, two sites offering the second-best odds would each record a score of 2.5).
The scores were then added up for all 10 options within the given market, and the sportsbook with the lowest combined score was listed first overall, with the others ranked accordingly.
Overall rankings were determined by adding up the sum of all eight futures market rankings, with the sportsbooks then ranked from lowest to highest combined score.
