Part of the early Week 1 slate includes an NFC clash between the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Read on for our top Buccaneers vs. Vikings predictions based on the best NFL odds.

The Minnesota Vikings surprised the league by finishing with a 13-4 record and hosting a wild-card playoff game last season. However, they only managed a 7-10-1 record against the spread, covering just 41.2% of the time.

In Tom Brady's final season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished with an 8-9 record and hosted a wild-card game. Their performance against the spread (ATS) was even worse, with a league-worst 4-13-1 record and a cover percentage of 23.5%.

Both teams underwent significant offseason changes. The Vikings brought in Brian Flores to overhaul a group that ranked 31st in total defense and 30th in scoring defense.

The Bucs said goodbye to the GOAT - who presumably hung up his cleats for good - and signed Baker Mayfield to a one-year contract, hoping the former No. 1 overall pick still has a bit of magic left in him.

Here is our best Buccaneers vs. Vikings prediction (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

I can say with certainty that there will be few occurrences this season when bettors will be able to find a Justin Jefferson anytime touchdown prop at plus money.

The Vikings' superstar receiver and defending Offensive Player of the Year is coming off a season in which he led the league with 1,809 receiving yards and added eight touchdowns. That may seem like a modest touchdown total, but he was often double-teamed as the primary focus of the Vikings offense.

Jefferson opened last season with a bang. He hauled in 11 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns in a blowout win over the Green Bay Packers.

The defense he'll be facing on Sunday isn't the same defense that led the Bucs to a Super Bowl victory in 2020. The burnable secondary gave up 29 passing touchdowns last season, the second-most in the league. Though the Bucs' D ranked in the top 10 in pass yards allowed, there were exploitable holes that ended up in scores.

It's a smart bet to back the league's most explosive wideout to score against a leaky secondary, especially at these odds.
