We're at the point in Super Bowl week when the glamor and pageantry of the event start to ratchet up, with the upper-tier celebrities trickling in to radio row and elsewhere to promote their latest project.

Meanwhile, we're just waiting for the game to be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans (6:30 p.m. ET, FOX) on Sunday, and in the meantime diving into today's Chiefs vs. Eagles prediction and Super Bowl picks.

The anticipation is building, and our patience is not. But we've rolled out plenty of Super Bowl predictions to help pass the time, which are based on today's Super Bowl odds.

All we really need for this one is the presence of Saquon Barkley.

Yes, the Chiefs boast a quality run defense that ranked eighth leaguewide during the regular season. But the opponent seems to matter little for Barkley during a season when he's an unstoppable behemoth every week. And even if he is slowed for a period, his at minimum one home run swing feels inevitable, often resulting in a lengthy touchdown.

Barkley has scored on runs of 78, 60, and 62 yards during the playoffs alone, two of which incredibly came in one game against the Los Angeles Rams during the divisional round.

But this isn't a fun new trick from him. He also scored on a 68-yarder against the Washington Commanders in Week 16 and absurdly reached pay dirt on two 70-plus-yard runs when facing the Rams during the regular season. He led the league in 50-plus yard runs with six, many of which ended in the end zone.

This game will feature a battle in the margins. Our best Super Bowl betting sites agree with that assessment while setting such a tight spread that hasn't wavered much since the Super Bowl odds opened.

And with that in mind, the Eagles' swarming secondary and ferocious pass rush can provide the narrowest of edges and the source of separation.

Yes, the Chiefs always rise up under the brightest spotlight, and they seemingly claw from every hole or come out on top after every late-game white-knuckle ride. But the league's top-rated pass defense is well-positioned to keep Patrick Mahomes and Co. from igniting fireworks.

And if that script plays out and the game is lower scoring than the 49 or 48.5 total suggests (though that's been falling a little), a powerful Eagles rushing attack can dictate the pace and control the clock. I'm also leaning on that scenario for one of our Super Bowl score predictions.

Who will win the Super Bowl?

Embrace the fear that comes with going against the Chiefs in the playoffs. Wrap yourself in it even, and take the Eagles on the moneyline.

If you think this is the time the Chiefs end up on the wrong end of a one-score game after winning 12 such matchups this season including the playoffs, the Eagles' moneyline offers a slightly more appealing route. FanDuel is posting the leading price at +102 among our best NFL prop betting sites.

Today's Super Bowl odds

Who is favored to win the Super Bowl?

Chiefs (-115 via Caesars)

The Chiefs remain the favorites. Plenty else could fluctuate in the odds ahead of kickoff, but the Chiefs being the narrowly favored side feels nearly cemented at this point.

However, there is an outlier price on them through Caesars, as the rest of our best sports betting sites are listing the Chiefs at -120 on the moneyline.
