Patrick Mahomes is looking to stay hot and lead his team to a fifth victory in five games this season as he takes on one of the league's best defenses at home. His Chiefs lead the Super Bowl odds heading into this matchup.

With so many playmakers on the field to close out Week 5, our first touchdown scorer predictions for Monday Night Football will target a young talent and a seasoned veteran as we look to complement Esten McLaren's anytime touchdown scorer predictions.

The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking to stay undefeated despite losing many of their offensive threats. Wide receiver Rashee Rice may be back this season, but he won't play tonight. And Kareem Hunt will continue to fill in for the injured Isiah Pacheco at running back.

The New Orleans Saints jumped out to a hot start, scoring 91 points and winning their first two games. They've cooled off since after losing their last two contests. However, they're still only a game out of first place in the NFC South, and a win will keep them in the mix.

Alvin Kamara, who's a long shot in the NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds, has crossed the goal line six times this year. He's logged as many total touchdowns as his quarterback has passing scores. 

New Orleans relies heavily on its running game while averaging a league-best 34.5 rushing attempts per outing. Kamara is far and away the most significant piece of that puzzle, with 57 more carries and 275 more yards than backup running back Jamaal Williams.

Four different Saints players have crossed the goal line first to open the season, which makes it difficult to predict one for this week. That's why I think keeping it simple with the top scorer on the team is the best idea here.

Even with his short odds, you can still turn your $10 bet into $50 if Kamara continues to do what he does best.

Chiefs first touchdown scorer prediction: Xavier Worthy, WR ⭐⭐⭐⭐

All four of the Chiefs’ first touchdowns this season have come by way of the passing game. Xavier Worthy has snatched two. 

Worthy has been given consistent usage this year, with four targets in each of his last three games. He’s been targeted on Kansas City’s first drive in two of four contests this season, which leads to the opportunity for an early score.

Travis Kelce (+800) and Kareem Hunt (+700) are the favorites on the Chiefs to score the first touchdown Monday night. However, Kelce has yet to cross the goal line this season, despite being the team's top receiving option. 

Hunt is making his second start with the Chiefs while entering a backfield that's only scored twice all year.
