The Kansas City Chiefs stand alone as the league’s last remaining undefeated team. Can a hobbled Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense score a major upset?

This week, my first touchdown scorer predictions for Monday Night Football involve a pass-catcher who will need to step up for his team amid key injuries, as well as a rejuvenated running back reunited with his former team.

The Buccaneers have scored the first touchdown in five of their eight games, but the two players responsible for those scores - Chris Godwin and Mike Evans - won't suit up tonight. That's why I’m betting on an increased role for one of their teammates as a long shot by the Monday Night Football odds.

On the other side of the ball, the Chiefs have watched running back after running back go down this year. Luckily, the man they brought in to fill that void has been effective in his role and especially at finding the end zone.

In addition to our Buccaneers vs. Chiefs prediction, here are my favorite first touchdown scorer predictions tonight.

Otton is coming off a two-touchdown performance last week against the Atlanta Falcons. He emerged from that loss as Tampa Bay’s most-targeted pass catcher (10), as well as the team leader in receptions (nine) and receiving yards (81).

The veteran tight end has been thrust into the lead role in the Buccaneers’ passing attack with Evans and Godwin dealing with injuries. Otton has racked up 20 of his 51 targets over the last two weeks as the wounds pile up around him.

Tampa Bay faces a Kansas City defense allowing the sixth-most passing touchdowns per game at home (1.7). The Chiefs have also given up the second-highest passing touchdown percentage (83.3%) inside their home stadium this year.

There's a reason our Phil Wood gave out likes Otton to score an anytime TD as part of his Buccaneers vs. Chiefs player props, and a bet on him to score the opening touchdown would turn a $10 bet into a $180 profit.

The Chiefs have enjoyed having Hunt back on the roster, as he's already scored four touchdowns over the last three weeks.

Since his return to Kansas City, Hunt has handled nearly two-thirds of the team's total rushing attempts. He handled 21 of 23 running back carries last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, when he extended his touchdown streak to three games.

He has been lethal inside the 20-yard line, as well, gobbling up 18 of the Chiefs’ 39 red-zone carries. All four of his touchdowns this season have come from this part of the field.

Hunt has been the first player to cross the goal line in each of his last three contests, while Tampa Bay has given up four touchdowns to running backs in its last three games.

I see no reason for either trend to change this week with a $10 bet returning a $45 profit at BetMGM.
