Justin Fields has his new team at 3-1 and leading the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North. Can he keep the magic rolling with an early score against the Dallas Cowboys this week?

This week’s first touchdown scorer predictions when attacking the Sunday Night Football odds were challenging given neither team has found the end zone much this season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have crossed the goal line just six times in four games. The Dallas Cowboys haven’t done much better, registering only nine six-point plays this year. The low-scoring game factors into Mike Spector's Cowboys vs. Steelers prediction.

With that in mind, I am targeting playmakers for these first touchdown picks as a complement to Esten McLaren's anytime touchdown scorer predictions for Week 5. These two players represent a large share of their team’s touchdown totals and have the best shot at getting to the end zone first in the game and kick-starting our Cowboys vs. Steelers SNF prop bets.

It would be easy to try and get cute here, but Lamb is the only Dallas player with more than one touchdown this year and he has been in the end zone only twice.

Lamb has the best opportunity to log the first touchdown for the Cowboys leading the team in targets (32) and receiving yards (316). He’s also one of two players with two red-zone targets.

Dallas has the highest percentage of passing plays in the league this year putting the ball in the air 65.59% of the time. This gives us a six out of 10 shot that the Cowboys' first score will be a pass.

You’ll see a $75 return on your $10 investment on this wager to complement our Dak Prescott SNF player prop bets.

Steelers first touchdown scorer prediction: Justin Fields, QB ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pittsburgh has scored only six touchdowns this season, and Fields is responsible for all of them.

The former Chicago Bears signal caller has three rushing touchdowns on the season. No other Steelers running back has crossed the goal line this year.

Fields has the third-most carries in the league from inside the 20-yard line (11) through his first four games. He also has the second-highest total of red-zone carries for Pittsburgh behind Najee Harris (12).

The Steelers failed to score the first touchdown of the game in their last two contests. However, when they did cross the goal line, Fields registered the first tally.

I'm backing Fields to score in the first half with my Justin Fields SNF player prop bets.
