With a victory over the New York Giants on MNF, the Pittsburgh Steelers will take sole possession of first place in the AFC North. The game will kick off from Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Steelers are 5-2 against the spread and enjoyed one of their best performances of the season against the New York Jets in prime time last Sunday.

The 2-5 Giants are 3-4 against the spread and enter tonight's contest as 6-point underdogs at our best NFL betting sites.

The line hasn't moved in the lead-up to the game, and we're fading the public and backing the underdogs by the Monday Night Football odds while also betting against their starting QB in the player props market.

The below picks are part of our MNF coverage, including the Giants vs. Steelers MNF props, Giants vs. Steelers MNF parlay, Russell Wilson MNF player props, and anytime touchdown scorer predictions

Giants vs. Steelers against the spread prediction: Monday Night Football

Giants to cover the spread: +6 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐

Giants vs. Steelers opening odds:

  • Giants: +5.5 (-110)
  • Steelers: -5.5 (-110)

Look, I get it - there's nothing sexy about betting on the Giants, especially after their offense scored a combined 10 points in the last two weeks.

But I can't justify laying this many points on the Steelers, whose offense has been marginally better this year on a per-play basis even with Russell Wilson in tow.

While the 13-year veteran posted a decent stat line (264 yards, 2 TDs) in his season debut last week, he still completed just 55.2% of his passes and was wholly ineffective in the first half before Pittsburgh reined him in after halftime.

Don't sleep on Giants' defense

The Steelers' defense is the one generating headlines in this matchup and for good reason: Pittsburgh ranks sixth in EPA/play allowed while surrendering the second-fewest points per game (14.4 PPG).

Yet the Giants feature a devastating pass rush that leads the NFL in sack rate (12.5%) - the highest mark through seven games by any team since 2001.

That dominant pass rush had five sacks last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, who finished 1-for-13 in third down but relied on an elite rushing attack to win.

I have serious doubts that Wilson can make enough plays on critical downs to help Pittsburgh win by a touchdown, especially behind a shaky offensive line that still doesn't quite look right.

The Giants clearly have their own issues on offense (more on that below), which is why I'm expecting a low-scoring game overall. That is always conducive to the underdog, especially with this total trading in the 30s.

If you can't fully trust either team, take the points. And this is simply too many points to pass up.

Daniel Jones to throw an interception (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jones kept his powder dry last week, but he finished with just 99 passing yards on 21 attempts and had a turnover-worthy play for the sixth time in seven starts.

Philadephia's defense was ill-equipped to take advantage after intercepting just two passes all season. Pittsburgh already has nine interceptions in seven games, including two last week alone against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.

While the Steelers' secondary is full of playmakers, their front seven is clearly their strength on defense - ranking third in EPA/rush allowed (-0.24), second in yards per carry (3.6), and first in expected points from rushing defense.

Because of that, I expect Jones to attack more downfield against the Steelers' man-heavy defense. That should spell a better day in the yardage department, but I'd also expect at least one miscue from the struggling passer on Monday night.
