The Detroit Lions look to pour salt in the San Francisco 49ers' gaping wound on Monday Night Football.

The Lions enter the Week 17 contest at Levi's Stadium (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN) in the leading pack of Super Bowl odds favorites, and Jared Goff has a lot to do with their success, especially recently. 

Detroit is a 3.5-point favorite via the Monday Night Football odds, and our Jared Goff NFL player prop odds and picks expect a mixed bag from the 30-year-old signal-caller as part of our NFL Week 17 predictions.

Jared Goff Under 0.5 interceptions ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Goff is usually incredibly assured with the football, rarely coughing up possession through the air. He has thrown just one pick in the last six games.

Beforehand, Goff seemed to get caught in the twilight zone for 60 minutes, throwing five interceptions in Houston against the Texans. 

That Week 10 outing is the definition of an outlier, as Goff didn't throw an interception in the five contests prior.

Excluding that bizarre episode in Houston, the Lions quarterback has tossed a solitary pick in the last 11 contests. It's one of many reasons he was among the NFL MVP odds front-runners for so long before seeing his odds tumble during the last seven days.

Jared Goff Under 245.5 passing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Goff has been bombarding teams in the last third of the season, hitting the Over on this prop in five of the previous six games, during which he's averaged 335.8 yards. He wasn't as prolific in the early goings, busting through the 246-yard threshold in four of the first nine contests.

However, this 49ers defense is superb at defending the pass.

Even without cornerback Charvarius Ward, who has been ruled out due to personal reasons, I can't see the Lions lighting up the 49ers like they have other teams. San Francisco hasn't allowed 245 passing yards in nine straight. 

The Dallas Cowboys came the closest in Week 8, with Dak Prescott throwing for 236 yards. Overall, the 49ers have allowed 245 passing yards or more just twice. A winning $10 bet will profit $8.70.

Jared Goff Over 32.5 passing attempts ⭐⭐⭐

The game should be close throughout, which we cover in our Lions vs. 49ers prediction, forcing the Lions to deploy their aerial attack for a significant portion.

Goff has hit the Over on this prop in four of the last five and will likely need to keep his attempts up without David Montgomery in the backfield.

While I expect the 49ers to force Goff into more check-downs and shorter passes than he'd like, his attempts should remain high. Speaking of more check-downs, our Lions vs. 49ers MNF prop bets analyze Jahmyr Gibbs' chances of eclipsing 27.5 receiving yards.
