2023 NFL Mock Draft predictions

1. Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

Alabama QB Bryce Young is once again the first pick in our NFL mock draft.

It's Night 1 of the NFL Draft, and what's been suspected for weeks will finally be confirmed: The Carolina Panthers will select Alabama quarterback Bryce Young with the first overall pick.

Despite some late action this week on Kentucky quarterback Will Levis to go first overall, Young is now the no-doubt favorite, carrying -5000 odds at FanDuel.

Bet: Exact Order - 1st Bryce Young, 2nd Will Anderson Jr., 3rd C.J. Stroud (+165 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuel
+100 ❄️+165 🔥

Draft exactas are now available. We can't recommend betting Young to be the first pick at his current odds, so we'll look to make a profit by combining the favorites at the first three picks.

2. Houston Texans: Will Anderson Jr., EDGE, Alabama

The No. 2 and No. 3 picks have shifted all day, but it now appears as though the Houston Texans will be holding onto the second selection and targeting Alabama pass-rusher Will Anderson Jr.

Anderson's odds to go second overall have dropped to -350.

Bet: Who Will Texans Select with No. 2 and 12 Overall? Anderson and Will Levis (+1100 via FanDuel)

Anderson's props for this pick and to be the first defensive player selected are at -350. At this stage of the game, bettors have to get creative to mine value on reported picks.

3. Tennessee Titans: C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State

The other hot Draft Day rumor is that the Tennessee Titans plan to trade up with the Arizona Cardinals in order to select Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Titans coach and former Buckeyes alum Mike Vrabel would make an ideal landing spot for Stroud.

Bet: Titans' First Drafted Player - Quarterback (-130 via Caesars)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
-180 ❄️-175-130 🔥-175

Caesars has the closest number to even money at the moment. Expect the odds to continue dropping until they're taken off the board altogether.

4. Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

The market for Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson has changed throughout Thursday afternoon.

The Seattle Seahawks opened as the favorites to take the athletic QB at +300, followed by the Titans and Colts, but there has been significant steam on Richardson to go Under his 4.5 draft position prop.

The Colts are now +140 favorites at DraftKings to draft Richardson.

Bet: Team to draft Anthony Richardson - Colts (+140 via DraftKings, Betway)

5. Seattle Seahawks: Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

Georgia

After their playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Pete Carroll vowed that the Seattle Seahawks need to get more dynamic on their defensive front. With two first-round picks in their pocket, the Hawks can afford to take a risk on Carter.

Bet: Team to Draft Jalen Carter - Seahawks (-250 via DraftKings, Betway)

The Seahawks are the betting favorites - and the only team with minus odds - to draft Carter.

6. Detroit Lions: Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois

Though they're still in the market for their quarterback of the future, the Lions can use this pick to address their 32nd-ranked defense and 30th-ranked pass defense.

Detroit needs a star to match up with the likes of Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson. The Lions can take the first cornerback off the board and the consensus top pick is Illinois' Devon Witherspoon.

Bet: Lions' First Drafted Position - Defensive Back (-130 via DraftKings, Betway)

DraftKingsCaesarsBetway
-130 ❄️-140-130

Witherspoon is a -270 favorite to be the first corner drafted. Look to the team special instead.

7. Las Vegas Raiders: Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon

ESPN's Todd McShay reports that the belief around the NFL is that the Las Vegas Raiders will target a cornerback after failing to move up to No. 1 for their choice of quarterback.

Christian Gonzalez of Oregon had been the betting favorite for multiple months and though he may not be the first corner drafted, the Raiders would be happy to get him at No. 7 overall.

Bet: Raiders' First Drafted Player - Cornerback (+140 via Caesars)

DraftKingsCaesarsbet365
-135 ❄️+140 🔥+110

This prop was available at +180 at bet365 on Wednesday.

8. Atlanta Falcons: Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech

The Atlanta Falcons have heavy needs across the roster and are in a position where they can take the best player available.

The Falcons are trying to move out of this pick, according to SI's Albert Breer. If they fail to do so, Texas Tech's Tyree Wilson might fall into their laps.

Bet: Tyree Wilson draft position - Over 4.5 (-265 via DraftKings)

There appears to be no home in the top 5 for Wilson. The Over on his draft position prop carries heavy juice, but with the reported projected picks, it appears to be the play.

9. Chicago Bears: Paris Johnson Jr., T, Ohio State

The Chicago Bears declared Justin Fields as their quarterback of the future when they traded out of the No. 1 pick, and they got the wide receiver help they sorely needed when they received D.J. Moore in the package.

Now, Chicago can use the No. 9 pick to address an offensive line that gave up 58 sacks in 2022, the fourth-most in the league.

Prop bet: First Player Drafted by Bears - Johnson (+250 via PointsBet)

Three offensive tackles top the odds board for this PointsBet prop.

10. Philadelphia Eagles: Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia

Georgia

The Eagles lost defensive tackle Javon Hargrave in free agency, and though they brought back stalwart D-linemen Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox, they're 35 and 32 years old, respectively.

With two first-round picks, Philly can afford to spend a pick on rebuilding the aging D-line.

Bet: First Player Drafted by Eagles - Smith (+350 via PointsBet)

This PointsBet prop has four different players (Skoronski, Smith, Johnson Jr., Bijan Robinson) favored at +350 odds. It's worth a wager.

Check out our 2023 NFL Draft odds

11. Arizona Cardinals: Peter Skoronski, T, Northwestern

The Cards traded out of the third slot and can now appease quarterback Kyler Murray and select the offensive tackle he reportedly seeks.

Murray has missed plenty of time due to injuries in recent seasons, making protecting him of the utmost importance.

Bet: Peter Skoronski draft position - Over 10.5 (-136 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelbet365
-140-136 🔥-150 ❄️

All of the Cardinals-specific props have been taken off the board.

12. Texans: Will Levis, QB, Kentucky

The Texans exercise patience and get their first choice at defense with pick No. 2 and the quarterback they sorely need at No. 12.

Bet: Who Will Texans Select with No. 2 and 12 Overall? Anderson and Levis (+1100 via FanDuel)

With most Levis props taken down across our top sportsbooks, look to FanDuel's draft combos to dig for value on projected picks.

13. Green Bay Packers: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

Of course, the day after Aaron Rodgers leaves the building, the Packers finally use a first-round pick on a receiver.

The Packers are the favorites to land the consensus top wideout in the draft.

Bet: Team to Draft Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Packers (+230 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelbet365Betway
 +200+230 🔥+220+200

The Packers own one of the shallowest receiver rooms in the NFL, and therefore are believed to be the landing spot for Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

14. New England Patriots: Lukas Van Ness, EDGE, Iowa

The Patriots have spent much of the offseason retooling an offense that ranked 26th in 2022. They've hired Bill O'Brien as offensive coordinator and signed wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster and tight end Mike Gesicki in free agency.

Now they can turn their attention to the defense. The Iowa-to-New England pipeline continues with one of the most athletic pass-rushers in the draft.

Bet: Lukas Van Ness Draft Position - Over 12.5 (-250 via Caesars, bet365)

Caesarsbet365
-250-250

There are few sportsbooks offering this prop on Van Ness' draft position. We don't love the odds, but it's more palatable than trying to forecast what player or position the Patriots will choose. This is a team that surprised by taking guard Cole Strange with their first-round pick last year.

15. New York Jets: Darnell Wright, T, Tennessee

Tennessee

The priorities for the New York Jets have changed now that they've landed quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They've shifted from plucky contenders to a team with a short, win-now window.

The Jets will need an immediate impact player, especially since they included their second-round pick in the Rodgers deal. Offensive line is the position that requires the most attention.

Bet: Jets draft Darnell Wright with Pick 15, Giants draft Quentin Johnston with Pick 25 (+4600 via FanDuel)

This FanDuel draft special is the only way to get value on the Jets picking an offensive lineman.

16. Washington Commanders: Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson

The Washington Commanders will reportedly decline the fifth-year option on star pass-rusher Chase Young.

If this is potentially the end of Young’s time in D.C., the Commanders can begin looking for his successor.

Bet: Position of Commanders' First Drafted Player - Defensive Lineman (+500 via Caesars)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesars
+350 ❄️+430 +500 🔥

Washington is favored to select a corner or O-lineman first, allowing us to get great value on the Commanders likely planning for the future on the D-line.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State

A Penn State alum and son of a former Pittsburgh Steelers great? Some scripts write themselves.

Nittany Lions cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is projected to go in this range and Steelers general manager Omar Khan has an eye on the corner market.

Bet: Joey Porter Jr. Draft Position - Under 19.5 (+170 via DraftKings, BetRivers)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsBetRivers
+170+162 ❄️+165+170

Unfortunately, none of our top books are posting a player-to-team prop for Porter. The odds on the Steelers to draft a corner prop vary from -125 to +100. So our play is the Under on Porter's draft position.

18. Lions: Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

Blessed with two first-round picks, the Lions can afford to use the second selection on a luxury item. Robinson matches Detroit’s blue collar mantra.

Bet: Team to Draft Bijan Robinson - Lions (+1400 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelbet365
+1200 +1400🔥+1200

FanDuel's draft combo on the Lions to take Witherspoon and Robinson with their two picks is posted at +1500 odds. So the team to draft Robinson prop carries an eye-catching price.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Broderick Jones, T, Georgia

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers begin a new era without Tom Brady. They also cut ties with one of their longest tenured players when they released left tackle Donovan Smith.

The Bucs will need to find a replacement on new quarterback Baker Mayfield's blindside.

Broderick Jones was the starting left tackle for the national championship-winning Georgia Bulldogs. His selection would allow Second-Team All-Pro Tristan Wirfs to remain at right tackle.

Bet: Position of Buccaneers' First Drafted Player - Offensive Lineman (+175 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
+150+175 🔥-110 ❄️+150

O-line is the favorite to be the position group targeted by the Bucs in the first round.

20. Seahawks: Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College

Boston College WR Zay Flowers is the favorite to be the second wideout taken in our NFL mock draft.

Tyler Lockett will be 31 years old, and who knows how long he’ll possess deep speed. Many analysts have compared Boston College's Zay Flowers to Lockett, which should make for a seamless transition in Emerald City.

Bet: 2nd Wide Receiver Selected - Zay Flowers (-110 via bet365)

DraftKingsbet365
-120 ❄️-110 🔥

Flowers is favored to be the second wideout off the board, after Smith-Njigba.

21. Los Angeles Chargers: Jordan Addison, WR, USC

Most books have wideout as the position of choice for the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. They need to continue to add weapons as they chase the Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs. They also are lacking depth behind the oft-injured receiving duo of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Bet: Chargers' First Drafted Player - Wide Receiver (-135 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
-200 ❄️-135 🔥-150-150

There's a 65-cent price difference in this Chargers prop. USC's Jordan Addison is +320 to be the second wideout taken.

22. Baltimore Ravens: Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland

Now that star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. is in the fold, the Baltimore Ravens can turn their attention to other areas of need.

The Ravens finished 26th in pass defense last year and cut ties with veterans Marcus Peters and Kyle Fuller in the offseason. They're looking to get younger at corner.

Bet: Position of Ravens' First Drafted Player - Cornerback (+100 via Caesars)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
-120-125+100 🔥-110

The importance of price shopping is underscored here. This prop was available at +115 at Caesars on Wednesday.

23. Minnesota Vikings: Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee

Cornerback is an obvious need for the Vikings, but now so is wide receiver after Minnesota native Adam Thielen was released and signed with the Panthers.

The Vikes have yet to fill that void via free agency, and it goes without saying that the team won't enter the season with K.J. Osborn as the only secondary receiving option to All-Pro Justin Jefferson.

Tennessee's Jalin Hyatt ran a 4.4 in the 40. The deep threat would open up space in the middle of the field for Jefferson.

Bet: Jalin Hyatt to be a First Round Pick (+300 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuel
+250 ❄️+300 🔥

FanDuel is offering the better payout on Hyatt to be a first-round selection.

24. Jacksonville Jaguars: Brian Branch, CB, Alabama

The Jaguars have compiled an impressive roster of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. It's the defense that needs work, particularly a pass defense that ranked 28th in the NFL last season.

The team parted ways with Shaquill Griffin and is likely to seek his replacement through the draft. We recommend making a bet on the Jaguars to use their first-round pick on a corner.

Bet: Position of Jaguars' First Drafted Player - Cornerback (+210 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesars
+125 ❄️+210 🔥+180

Again, simply shopping around can result in a bigger payout on the same prop. The best odds are at FanDuel.

25. New York Giants: Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

Quentin Johnston of TCU is one of the top wideouts in our NFL mock draft.

There are few teams more desperate for a difference-maker at receiver than the Giants. They made the playoffs last season with a collection of unheralded wideouts and released Kenny Golladay after the season.

The only addition thus far has been former second-round pick Parris Campbell who's coming off a career-high 623 receiving yards. Trading for tight end Darren Waller certainly helps, but quarterback Daniel Jones needs more downfield options.

Bet: Position of Giants' First Drafted Player (+160 via FanDuel, bet365)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
+150+160+150 +160 🔥

A Johnston-to-Giants bet boost is available at +1100 at bet365. There are only a handful of receiver-needy teams and they're all picking in the same range as the Giants.

26. Dallas Cowboys: Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah

Jay Novacek, Jason Witten, Dalton Schultz. There's a long line of productive tight ends in Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys lost Schultz to free agency. Gone are the 1,385 yards, 193 targets, and 13 touchdowns he collected over the last two seasons.

Kincaid would be an affordable replacement, and one who recently received a clean bill of health after a concerning back injury.

Bet: Dalton Kincaid Draft Position - Over 24.5 (+210 via DraftKings)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
+210 🔥+182+150 ❄️+190

Kincaid and Mayer flip-flopped as the favorite to be the first tight end drafted, but recent steam has pushed Mayer back to the top of the oddsboard. We're pivoting to Kincaid's draft position prop.

27. Buffalo Bills: Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina

We got some answers from Buffalo with the team's moves in free agency. The Bills brought back safety Jordan Poyer, linebacker Matt Milano, and corner Dane Jackson, while also releasing wideout Isaiah McKenzie.

We can confidently assume that the team will address its need for a secondary receiving option by looking to the draft. Take the Bills to select a receiver with their first-round pick.

Bet: Bills' First Drafted Position - Wide Receiver (+390 via FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
+200 ❄️+390 🔥+300+300

Wideout is the betting favorite at DraftKings, but more value is available by shopping around.

28. Cincinnati Bengals: Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

Cincinnati made a splash in free agency, landing left tackle Orlando Brown to cement its offensive line. But the team lost tight end Hayden Hurst to Carolina.

Mayer is considered the more well-rounded of the top tight end prospects, thriving as a blocker as well as a pass-catcher.

Bet: Second Tight End Selected - Michael Mayer (+150 via DraftKings)

DraftKingsbet365
+150 🔥+140 ❄️

Kincaid is considered the more athletic tight end of the top two prospects, so there's value in betting Mayer to be the second one off the board at the position.

29. New Orleans Saints: Calijah Kancey, DT, Pittsburgh

The New Orleans Saints are now the favorites to win the NFC South after adding quarterback Derek Carr and running back Jamaal Williams in free agency. However, they've yet to address an aging defensive line.

Thirty-three-year-old Cameron Jordan missed the Pro Bowl for the first time in five years, and he could use some help getting to the quarterback.

Bet: Saints' First Drafted Position - Defensive Line (-115 via Caesars, FanDuel)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
-200 ❄️-115-115-120

Pitt defensive tackle Calijah Kancey carries -340 odds to be a top-31 pick, so we're instead pivoting to the position market.

30. Eagles: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama

Jahmyr Gibbs of Alabama is climbing draft boards and sneaks into our NFL mock draft.

With their pick near the end of the first round, the Eagles can afford to use a selection on a running back and snag one of the fastest rising players in the pre-draft process.

Bet: Total SEC Players Drafted in the 1st Round - Under 11.5 (-200 via DraftKings)

Jahmyr Gibbs is now at -320 odds to be a first-round pick and the Over on 1.5 running backs to go on Night 1 is at -320, as well. We're pivoting to this college conference prop. Our mock has 11 players from the SEC going on Night 1.

Check out our 2023 NFL MVP odds

31. Kansas City Chiefs: Anton Harrison, T, Oklahoma

The Chiefs watched Orlando Brown leave for their conference rival and pivoted to Jawaan Taylor as their new left tackle.

But as the team found out during the postseason, protecting quarterback Patrick Mahomes is of the utmost importance. Ohio State's Dawand Jones could be the long-term answer at tackle for Kansas City.

Bet: Chiefs' First Drafted Position - Offensive Line (+200 via DraftKings)

DraftKingsFanDuelCaesarsbet365
+200 🔥+175 ❄️+190+180

The Super Bowl champs can take the best available player with the last pick of the first round. With Taylor and Lucas Niang currently penciled in as the starting tackles, we're confident the Chiefs will look to tackle.
